Job Description:
We are seeking an objective Internal Auditor to support laboratory auditing and strengthen compliance across our operations. This role will bring a systematic and disciplined approach to evaluating the effectiveness of laboratory controls, quality system requirements, and process governance. The ideal candidate will have audit experience, with strong knowledge of AS9100 and ISO 9001 standards, and the ability to assess compliance, identify risks, and help ensure laboratory activities meet internal, regulatory, and certification requirements.
Essential Functions:
- Perform internal laboratory audits to ensure compliance with contractual, regulatory, company, AS9100 and ISO 9001 requirements.
- Maintain and support the internal laboratory audit program, including audit planning, execution, reporting and follow-up.
- Analyze audit results, findings and quality trends to evaluate the effectiveness of corrective actions and overall laboratory compliance.
- Recommend and track corrective actions to address adverse trends, audit findings and identified compliance risks.
- Support continuous improvement initiatives within laboratory operations and lead corrective and preventive action investigations, including RCCA, 8D and DMAIC activities.
- Incorporate lean principles and improvement initiatives to reduce waste, strengthen process effectiveness and sustain compliance within laboratory functions.
Qualifications:
- Requires a High School Diploma or equivalent and a minimum of 8 years of prior relevant experience or 2 years post-Secondary/Associates Degree with a minimum of 4 years of prior related experience.
- Prior experience in internal auditing, quality, laboratory operations, compliance or a related field preferred.
- Working knowledge of AS9100 Rev. D and ISO 9001:2015 standards preferred.
Preferred Additional Skills:
- AS9100/ISO Lead Auditor training/certification desirable
- ASQ Certified Quality Auditor (CQA) certification desirable
- Aerospace product quality experience preferred
- Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to build positive working relationships across all levels of the organization.
- Effective listening, written, verbal and presentation communication skills.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively as part of a diverse audit or quality team.
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail, with the ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines.
- Ability to identify issues, gather and analyze information, and support practical, risk-based solutions.
- Familiarity with root cause analysis, corrective action processes and basic auditing tools preferred.
- Professional, objective, and approachable demeanor, with sound judgment and the ability to navigate sensitive situations effectively.
