Job Description:
As a Program Quality Engineer, you will be responsible for the design, development, and implementation of standards, methods, and procedures to inspect, test, and evaluate the precision and accuracy of our company's products, ensuring compliance with all contractual and regulatory requirements. In this role, you will also lead, direct, and review the work of a team of Quality Technicians.
Essential Functions:
- Plans and establish goals, objectives, tasking, coaching, and support as needed for a team of Quality Technicians with direct impact on immediate and long-term operational results for the department.
- Works to achieve programmatic and personnel operational targets with direct impact on the departmental results.
- Contributes to the development of goals for the department and planning efforts (budgets, operational plans, etc.).
- Continuously looks for opportunities to make moderate to substantial improvements in processes, systems, solutions, or products to enhance performance of job area.
- Coordinate and lead the resolution of non-conformances, including MRB, root cause analysis, developing and implementing corrective actions and verifying effectiveness of corrective actions taken for assigned programs.
- Reviews product drawings and documents for completeness, correctness, and compliance with L3Harris document standards.
- Runs or supports investigations into the cause for discrepancies and nonconformities to develop disposition and recommend corrective action plans.
- Leads material review board and Process Failure Mode Effects Analysis (PFMEA) activities.
- Interfaces with manufacturing, engineering, customer, supplier, and subcontractor representatives to ensure requirements are met.
- Works with Supply Chain to set up material acquisition and manages supplier corrective actions.
- Perform audits of quality control processes, identifying areas for improvement and making recommendations for corrective action.
- Train team members on quality control processes, procedures, and policies, ensuring that they have the knowledge and skills necessary to perform their jobs effectively.
- Serves as the primary interface to customers and suppliers for quality related matters.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s Degree with a minimum 6 years prior relevant experience. Graduate Degree with a minimum of 4 years of prior related experience. In lieu of a degree, minimum of 10 years of prior related experience.
- Top Secret/SCI US Security Clearance w/ Poly
Preferred Additional Skills:
- Experience with Lean Six Sigma, with proven record of successful process improvement initiatives.
- Experience working programs requiring compliance to AS9100D, including the space addendum
- ASQ Certified Manager of Quality/Organizational Excellence (CMQ/OE) or Certified Quality Engineer (CQE)
- Experience with Oracle Agile PLM, Windchill, Cincom, and DOORS software suites.
- Supplier Quality / Supplier Development experience.
- Ability to focus, prioritize, multi-task and delegate.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Skilled in the use of Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Power Point, etc.).
- Practical knowledge in leading and managing projects, processes, and employees
- Strong knowledge and skills within the Quality profession
