Description:
Aerojet-Rocketdyne, an L3Harris Technologies Company, is seeking a highly motivated, experienced Quality Inspector whose primary responsibilities are to provide quality inspection services to our Production Operations and Engineering Teams in the areas of electronic and mechanical assembly as well as qualification testing.
Essential Functions:
- Responsible for ensuring hardware meets all approved requirements as outlined in the released engineering and subsequent national standard specifications (J-STD-001, IPC-620, Mil-Specs, etc.).
- Responsible for witnessing testing of hardware and ensuring all documentation related to the hardware is completed accurately with in-tolerance data at time of test and generate nonconformance in the QMS database, TipQA, if an anomaly arises.
- Responsible for reporting to management any discovered issues with the building, testing and the performing of final Quality Assurance activities on hardware to prevent schedule delays.
- Experience with hardware acceptance and qualification testing is a must.
- Experience using calipers, scales, micrometers and height gages.
- Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts and draw valid conclusions is required.
- Knowledge of Industry standard Quality specifications.
- Ability to read, analyze and interpret engineering drawings, product specifications, test procedures, MIL standards and requirements.
- IPC620 and J-STD-001 certifications required.
- Moderate computer skills are necessary.
- Approximately 25% travel.
Qualifications:
- Requires a High School Diploma or equivalent and a minimum 6 years of prior quality experience or 2 years post-Secondary/Associates Degree with a minimum of 2 years of prior quality experience.
Preferred Additional Skills:
- TipQA and CostPoint experience and proficiency desired.
- Training certification(s) from ASQ is desired.
- Weekend and overtime work may be required.
