Job Description:

The Systems Engineering, Specialist – RC-135 Raven Simulation Systems will be responsible for supporting the USAF’s RC-135 mission aircraft and its related ground support systems.  The position has a thorough understanding of the RC-135 mission, aircraft operational capabilities, employment, crew complements, and various supporting ground mission systems.  This allows the specialist to develop and implement training scenarios focused on Raven systems and capabilities while interacting with the user during aircrew training/mission simulation events by operating the Mission Crew Training System (MCTS), associated simulation scenario generation processors and Distributed Mission Operations (DMO) systems.

Essential Functions:

• Provides support to RC-135 aircrew during ground training/mission simulations using the MCTS.
• Develops and implements training scenarios, specializing in basic operator Raven functions while interacting with the user during aircrew training events.
• Operates the MCTS and associated simulation environment generation processors during mission simulations and DMO events.
• Makes recommendations to improve scenario generation software while operating and sustaining the simulator to resolve equipment/software problems.
• Knowledge and understanding of RC-135 Raven mission system hardware, software and capabilities.
• Worldwide deployable with the ability to travel up to 10%.
• Ability to work various shifts to meet mission/user training requirements.
• Other duties as assigned by Supervisor.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s Degree with four (4) years of prior RC-135V/W tactical coordinator experience and/or qualification.
• Graduate Degree with a minimum of two (2) years of prior RC-135V/W tactical coordinator experience and/or qualification.
• In lieu of a degree a minimum of eight (8) years of prior RC-135V/W tactical coordinator experience and/or qualification.
• Ability to obtain a CompTIA Security+ certification or higher within the first year of employment.
• Active Secret DoD Security Clearance at the time of hire with the ability to obtain Top Secret/SCI Clearance within the first year and pass a CI polygraph.
• Qualified as an RC-135 Raven within the last 5 years.
• Must be a US Citizen.

Preferred Additional Skills:

• Familiarity with USAF Military weapon systems tactics and employment.
• Experience with Distributed Mission Operations (DMO).
• Understanding of LINUX and/or UNIX-based operating systems.
• Active Top Secret/SCI clearance.
• CompTIA Security+ Certification.
