About the role
L3Harris in Melbourne is the base for our Enterprise Network Modernisation Program (ENMP) for Airservices Australia. In partnership with Airservices, L3Harris will lead a consortium to plan and design an integrated, enterprise system to support all telecommunications, radio communications, ADS-B surveillance and network services for the National Airways System, including support for civil aviation, and aviation rescue and firefighting services
L3Harris is hiring an experienced Verification and Validation Manager to lead system assurance activities for Airservices Australia’s Enterprise Network Modernisation Program. This vital role oversees ongoing system verification and validation to ensure quality, compliance, and performance.

What the role will involve
In this role, you will manage test and verification of the overall system and oversee integration and test environments in line with program plans and procedures. You will also coordinate cross‑functional teams and ensure all testing activities are delivered on time and within budget.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead a team of 5–10 V&V engineers supporting system verification and test activities.
- Develop and manage System Test Plans, procedures, and documentation.
- Plan and coordinate lab and test environment resources.
- Oversee test schedules, budgets, and milestone delivery.
- Conduct and lead Test Readiness Reviews (TRRs) and product reviews.
- Coordinate contractor test activities and manage configuration control.
- Serve as the primary point of contact for the Chief Systems Engineer on integration and test matters.
What you’ll bring
The role requires the following experience and skills:
- Bachelor of Computer Science, Communication Engineering or similar technical degree with a minimum 9 years of prior relevant experience, or a Graduate Degree and a minimum of 7 years of prior related experience
- Able to qualify for and obtain Australian Defence security clearance to NV1
- Proven experience across all phases of the System Development Life Cycle (SDLC) for large‑scale electronic system deployments.
- Background working with Airservices Australia or similar government air traffic organisations’ on automation or network service projects.
- Demonstrated success in multi‑disciplinary engineering environments and large networked systems.
- Knowledge of Voice Communications Systems, radios, and telephony (VoIP, analog, digital).
- Experience managing and maintaining Validation Test Beds.
- Proficiency in managing workflows using Jira.
- Additional skills in programming, electronics, ICT, hardware development, or project management are advantageous.
