The Communications and Spectrum Dominance sector is looking fora Senior Specialist in Procurement for our Melbourne, Florida location to plan and implement strategic activities related to the procurement of raw materials, goods and services. This role requires management of complex supplier relationships and ensuring optimal supply chain performance within a dynamic, regulated environment. The successful candidate will ensure procurement aligns with organizational goals and budget constraints while maintaining compliance with applicable anti-corruption ethics, laws, and regulations, as well as aiding in audits.
Essential Functions:
- Manages the end-to-end procurement lifecycle including sourcing, negotiation, contract execution, and supplier performance management.
- Establishes and maintains strategic partnerships with key suppliers and OEM’s through capability assessments and qualification activities.
- Drafts, negotiates, and executes various contract types ensuring favorable terms and risk mitigation.
- Identifies, assesses, and develops mitigation strategies for procurement-related risks across programs.
- Drives continuous improvement initiatives to enhance procurement processes, efficiency, and effectiveness.
- Monitors and analyzes supply chain performance against schedule, through metrics, KPIs, and cost savings initiatives.
- Negotiates and resolves claims, rejections, losses, return of materials, over-shipments, cancellations and engineering changes with suppliers.
- Acts as a Subject Matter Expert (SME) across Supply Chain and communicate effectively with various functional organizations and executive leadership.
- Maintains strong internal customer relationships that foster an environment of collaboration and trust.
- Maintains audit readiness and supports internal/external audits related to procurement activities.
- Some travel may be required.
Required Qualifications:
- MRP experience.
- Bachelor’s Degree and minimum 6 years prior related experience. Graduate Degree with a minimum of 4 years of prior related experience. In lieu of a degree, minimum of 10 years of prior related experience.
- 6 years’ experience in Procurement and/or Subcontracts. Experience to be one or a combination of the following: Supply Chain, Subcontracts, Contracts, Procurement, Program Management, Engineering, Quality, Regulatory Compliance, Legal and Government compliance, and/or Finance. Coursework, or practical experience that demonstrates business acumen, compliance, legal, negotiations skills, analytical mindset, strategy development and execution.
Preferred Additional Skills:
- Highly proficient in MS Office suite of tools, including Outlook.
- Proficient with MRP systems with familiarity with e-procurement related supply chain software.
- Advanced negotiation and influencing skills.
- Strategic thinking and problem-solving abilities.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
- High attention to detail and commitment to quality.
- Risk assessment and mitigation expertise.
- Excellent communication skills, quality commitment, customer focus, and interpersonal skills.
- Self-starter with strong team collaboration capabilities.
- Ability to present to all levels of management and program teams.
- DoD contract experience.
- Knowledge of FAR/DFAR/ITAR laws, rules, and regulations.
