Job Description:
The IT Security Specialist is responsible for protecting the company's intellectual property, brand identity, and employees from cyber threats. We are looking for someone with a firm background in networking, routing, firewalls and remote access to support a 50,000+ user-based environment, preferably with Palo Alto experience. Candidates must be able to operate effectively in a fast-paced, highly fluid environment, handling tasks ranging from ticket processing, troubleshooting calls, and design reviews, all while maintaining daily operations with a security focused approach
Essential Functions:
- Support day-to-day Firewall and Remote Access changes for Palo Alto firewalls
- Participate in troubleshooting/resolution using a centralized ticketing system, systems logs, and packet captures
- Coordinate/support infrastructure changes both internally to Perimeter Security as well as with other IT teams
- Participate/support various IT projects including setup/maintenance of new and existing remote and virtual locations and equipment, patch and maintain hardware, open vendor support tickets
- Support large datacenter 24/7 operations
- Be available to support an after-hours/weekend maintenance schedule + participate in an on-call rotation
- Maintain a vigilant customer support focus
- Maintain change control documentation
- Critical thinking/ability to analyze a situation for underlying issues
- Excellent written and verbal communication skill to coordinate efforts between different IT teams
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s Degree and minimum 4 years of prior relevant experience. Graduate Degree and a minimum of 2 years of prior related experience. In lieu of a degree, minimum of 8 years of prior related experience.
Preferred Additional Skills:
- 5+ years Network/IT Security experience at an Enterprise/large scale level
- Experience with logging and monitoring tools (Spectrum, Splunk, ArcSight, Nagios)
- Certifications such as CCNP, CISSP, CISA, Security+
- Palo Alto experience
- Networking background: TCP/UDP, Switching, Routing (layers 1-7)
- Prior experience managing Enterprise/large scale firewall and/or remote access deployment, Palo Alto platform for preference
- Background experience identifying and troubleshooting PC/application and network issues
