Job Description:
The Enterprise Operations Manager is responsible for the oversight of the operations of a Managed Service Provider program that provides critical network communications to Airservices Australia. The Operations Manager’s objective is to ensure successful adoption of Service Management practices and standards across all Enterprise programs. This position provides leadership, management, direction and mentorship to the program’s Network Operations Managers. This position also works to promote coordination between the enterprise stakeholders, to include Network, Security, Software and OPS Support teams through mutual collaboration and continual improvement efforts. To fulfill the requirements of the position, the Enterprise Operations Manager should have a working knowledge of support programs and supporting technologies required in a critical setting, as well as the ability to implement standard practices (e.g. ITIL) into the environment’s operational policies and procedures.

Responsibilities:
This position requires an Airservices background check with duties to include:
- Collaborate with Program Leadership to develop and drive strategy tow build an industry best practice for critical network operations teams.
- Manage Physical Enterprise NOC footprint, manage workstation assignments and reconfiguration of physical assets within the NOC environments.
- Collaborate with stakeholders to implement Air Traffic Network modernization efforts.
- Assures adequate management reporting and monitoring for fulfilling the business plan
- Responsible for the surveillance of customer network by managing the 1st level operations resources
- Responsible to manage the team to perform alarm handling, performance monitoring, access control, automation focus, 1st level incident handling & reporting, TT management arrange relevant support for the field team
- Ensure security & Risk management directives are properly understood by the NOC team and followed
- Attend in management meetings where necessary with MSIP & customer
- Responsible to adhere all deployed MSTOP processes and contribute to the process improvement
- Report to MSIP & customer according to the report requirements stated on the WLA
- Ensure the 1st level operations team is working in alignment with the MSTOP processes
- Work pro-actively to continuously improve the operational performance of the delivery units the processes used in delivery
- Participate in all safety associated activities with the underground development and infrastructure construction, corrective action notices, audits, accident/incident investigations reporting, job analysis, safety meetings
- Drive standardization and continual improvement of the Enterprise Network NOC policies, processes and guidance across both the enterprise and international programs.
- Assist Operations Managers with effective data analysis and reporting.
- Collaborate with the Operations Management team, the Engineering Manager, the program PMO and HR to maintain adequate staffing across the operations teams.
- Assist NOC managers in maintain the NOC charge code and collaborate with stakeholders on unexpected cost differences.
- Monitor staff training needs, collaborate with enterprise trainer to ensure training is actively implemented.
- Own and deliver outcome-based recovery efforts for significant network events, serve as escalation manager for customer/partner service performance issues and collaborate with PMO and CSE when required.
- Interface with PMO and customer/partner effectively as required.
- Contribute enterprise level content to regular enterprise stakeholder staff meetings.
- Work with established program NOC teams to identify process deficiencies and manage efforts in process improvement.
- Own and deliver Operations Management teams in planning projects, contribute to training, define objectives, manage timelines and deliverables.
Minimum Qualifications:
- Excellent spoken/written communication and interpersonal skills.
- Bachelor’s degree or higher with a Telecommunications Engineering background (may be Computer Science or Management focus) along with 7 years’ NOC leadership experience
OR
- 10 years’ combined experience in the telecommunications field with at least 7 years’ NOC leadership experience and ITIL professional level certification(s).
- Strong ITIL implementation experience with ITILv4 Foundation certification and at least one Professional level certification.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Cisco Certified Network Associate (CCNA) is preferred
- Candidate with a broad knowledge and background on TCP/IP, MPLS, WAN routing and LAN switching technologies is preferred
- Candidate that possess working experience supporting Load Balancers (F5), Cisco ASR Routers and Nexus switches, Arista Switches, Networking Tools and Systems (e.g.
- Configuration / Investigation / Support IPSEC tunnels (in FortiGate’s, Sixnet and Others)
- Configuration / Investigation / Network Support / switches / routing (basic)
- Having at least 7 years’ experience on network operations
- Experience with network monitoring element and performance management applications.
- Experience developing, improving and/or applying SLA’s in an MSP setting.
- Demonstrated project management experience.
- Comfortable in face-to-face customer engagements and in high-pressure situations.
- Capable of translating complex, technical concepts into easily understood terms.
- Demonstrated experience with Service Management Practices (e.g. ITILv4).
- Working experience in a high-stakes, critical network environment.
Security Clearance:
The candidate must be able to undergo and obtain Australian Defence security clearance to Baseline.
