Job Description:
The Engineering Technician C will work under the guidance of the manufacturing engineer or site lead for the manufacturing build of the Commercial Broadband Satellite Program (CBSP) hardware. This position is responsible for the assembly integration of the CBSP hardware, which includes chassis builds, rack builds, and antenna pedestal builds.
Essential Functions:
- Provide assembly support to CBSP Pedestal, Rack, and Feed assemblies, and MAQA subassemblies and final integration.
- Provide support to crating material for delivery.
- Support Preventative Maintenance schedules and machine capability assessments.
- Support equipment troubleshooting and repair for CBSP & MAQA components/assemblies.
- Initiate, investigate, and institute efficiency improvement opportunities for CBSP & MAQA build processes.
- Spend considerable time standing, bending, twisting, bending and kneeling while building a variety of assemblies.
- Lift 50 pounds occasionally and reach for items on shelves
- Work with general manufacturing hand tools, computers and electronic troubleshooting tools such as multi-meters and power supplies.
- Use basic hand tools for mechanical assembly, metalworking machines and precision measuring and testing instruments.
Qualifications:
- High School Diploma or equivalent and a minimum of 6 years of prior electro/mechanical assembly or technician experience or 2 years post-Secondary/Associates Degree with a minimum 2 years of prior electro/mechanical assembly or technician experience
Preferred Additional Skills:
- Experience building electro/mechanical assemblies using process instructions.
- Willingness to work and learn in fast paced production environment
- Proficient computer skills, including MS Office
- Experience with IPC workmanship standards, including IPC-610, J-STD-001, and IPC 7711/7721
- Exposure to Lean Manufacturing Principles.
- Familiarity with basic computer software such as Microsoft Word and Excel.
