Job Description:

L3Harris Technologies' Sensors division is a world-recognized leader in Optical and Infrared detection systems and cryogenic assemblies. We are seeking an experienced Quality Manager to lead Quality at the Mason, OH facility. This role is critical to ensure the highest standards of quality, reliability, and mission success.

The Senior Manager of Quality will be responsible for leading all aspects of Quality Assurance throughout the product lifecycle, from development to delivery, for the L3Harris Mason division. This position will have responsibility for direct supervision and leadership of ~35 quality personnel across the Sensors business areas. The Senior Manager will be responsible for driving continual process and product improvement ensuring product and process integrity, leading to customer satisfaction and overall mission success while supporting division quality, delivery and cost targets. This position will collaborate frequently with Site management, Program leadership, Engineering, Manufacturing and Supply Chain personnel.  This is a hands-on, highly involved leadership position.

This position offers the chance to define and execute quality strategy for a rapidly growing site within L3 Harris’ Advanced Effects sector.

Essential Functions:

·Requires broad management and leadership knowledge to lead cross-department project teams or manage across the function. Typically has mastery within a specific technical area or broad expertise across multiple related job areas.

·Strong leadership capabilities with experience building, developing, and motivating high-performing teams in dynamic, fast-paced settings.

·Excellent communication, collaboration, and stakeholder influence skills at all levels, including executive leadership, cross-functional teams, suppliers, and customers.

• Responsible for the Quality Assurance, Quality Engineering and Inspection and Calibration functions, supporting all business practices, including design and development, quality planning, compliance monitoring and validation for programs, hardware, and Quality Control.
• Responsibility for resolving technical challenges, ensuring successful tactical execution, as well as creating and implementing the strategic vision for the Quality department.
• Develop and implement strategic Quality initiatives and programs in support of the Advanced Effects sector, and Missiles Segment goals.
• Promote a strong culture of quality focused on every employee engaged and enhancing the customer experience through rigorous attention to detail and prevention of defects.
• Work closely with the program teams and the functional organizations to ensure that all phases of the product life cycle, from early customer involvement through post-delivery support, meet the requirements for mission success. 
• Ensure early Operations involvement in Design throughout the product planning and design phases to ensure a seamless hand-off and transition to production including design reviews and facilitating quality concurrent Engineering.
• Responsible for the maintenance of quality records that document the quality status of material/products and provide necessary information and cumulative data for internal and external Customer responses.
• Improve the efficiency of the Quality organization through effective leadership, individual and group training, and process improvement.
• Collect and analyze key quality measures such as Cost of Poor Quality, Supplier Performance, and defect data, to drive improvement and contribute to reducing operating costs.
• Continually develop zero defect plans to improve yields and reduce rework during engineering and manufacturing efforts, as well as institute proactive initiatives. Report to senior leadership on business performance including action plans to improve business execution and status of strategic initiatives.
• Maintain certification and compliance efforts for AS9100.
• Champion continuous improvement (Lean, Six Sigma) to enhance first-time yield, reduce defects, and lower cost of poor quality across all programs.
• Champion Root Cause and Corrective Action process for the site.
• Ability to obtain a U.S. Security Clearance.

Qualifications:

·Bachelor’s Degree with a minimum of 12 years of prior related experience. Graduate Degree with a minimum of 10 years of prior related experience. In lieu of a degree, minimum of 16 years of prior related experience

·12+ years of experience in quality assurance/engineering or related roles within the aerospace, defense, or high-reliability manufacturing industries.

·5+ years of direct leadership experience managing quality teams in complex, or matrixed organizations supporting defense or aerospace programs.

5+ years of demonstrated expertise in implementing and maintaining AS9100/ISO 9001 quality management systems, including GD&T, SPC, APQP/PPAP, and advanced problem-solving methodologies (e.g., 8D, Fishbone, Pareto).
