Job Description:
As a Manufacturing Technician you will be responsible for contributing to the success of our Sensors Division working alongside our Production team. This role will be responsible for performing assembly and/or testing of electro optical and infrared products.
Essential Functions:
• Perform incoming functional test procedures.
• Troubleshoot and repair systems by replacing faulty components/assemblies.
• Install software and firmware in accordance with instructions.
• Per procedure guidelines, perform post-maintenance on tests.
• Prepare required service documentation in a timely fashion.
- Attend off site training courses and self-study as required to maintain competency and compliance with serviced units, company policies, and procedures.
- Interface with internal and external customers.
- Provide regular status reports on work in progress.
- Uphold safety requirements by wearing PPE and properly using work equipment in designated areas.
- Work against contractual deadlines to meet customer delivery dates.
- Access and utilize web based technical publications.
- Follow ESD, FOD and Lasers procedures.
- Perform mechanical assembly operations.
- Follow industry standard or practice for 6 Sigma.
Qualifications:
- High School Diploma or equivalent and 4 years of prior relevant experience or 2 years post-Secondary/Associates Degree with 0 to 2 years of prior relevant experience.
- Minimum 1 year of experience reading test procedures, operating instructions, drawings, schematics, wiring diagrams, and specifications.
- Minimum 1 year of experience with intermediate computer skills including familiarity with Microsoft Office.
- Minimum of one year experience with planning/organizational skills with the ability to priortize work assignments.
- Minimum 1 year of experience in working individually and in a diverse and team-oriented environment.
- Minimum 1 year of experience in mechanical assembly.
Preferred Additional Skills:
- Technical knowledge and skills in troubleshooting down to the component level.
- Experience with electrical/electronic troubleshooting.
- Analog and digital troubleshooting skills.
- Knowledge of infrared/optical/laser systems.
