Job Description:
L3Harris is searching for talented Hardware Test Engineers to join the L3Harris team where the candidate will support production testing of high-speed avionics open architecture processors, fiber optic switch modules and chassis.
Essential Functions:
- The Test Engineer will be tasked with applying electronic theory, principles of electrical circuits, electrical testing procedures and related subjects to test and troubleshoot to component-level microprocessor based digital circuitry consisting of discretes, BGAs, CGAs and fiber optic components.
- In addition, the candidate will be responsible for leading and training test technicians that execute manufacturing acceptance tests including, functional ESS and ATP.
- Candidate will be responsible for the collection of test data, and the generation of required test reports determining root cause-corrective action on failure trends.
- Candidate will be expected to understand, properly use and maintain the test sets and test equipment.
- Additionally, the Candidate will also be responsible for implementation of operational strategies to meet cost, quality, delivery, customer satisfaction, EHS, and continuous improvement objectives for the assigned programs in the factory. Candidate will be accountable for driving key program, factory, and department initiatives.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s Degree and a minimum of 2 years of prior related experience. Graduate Degree or equivalent with 0 to 2 years of prior related experience. In lieu of a degree, minimum of 6 years of prior related experience.
Preferred Additional Skills:
- Strong knowledge of boundary scan/JTAG and microprocessor emulators
- Highly proficient in the operation of test equipment including Oscilloscopes, Signal Generators, Counter/Timers, Logic Analyzers and DMMs
- Fiber optic testing and troubleshooting experience
- Strong work ethic and strong leadership skills with solid communication, interpersonal management and relationship building skills being a must.
- Strong Office tool skills along with a general instrumentation hardware and software knowledge
- Strong technical, analytical and critical thinking / reasoning skills.
- Experience with LabVIEW, LabWindows CVI, TestStand is a plus.
- Cost account management experience
- Experience in Basis of Estimates (proposal writing)
- Manufacturing background, shop floor experience
- Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings or schematics to perform work duties
- Work under direct supervision using a prescribed set of processes and procedures
- Work directly with engineers optimizing test processes and procedures
- Lean, continuous improvement mindset
- Ability to lift 32lb
