Job Description:
L3Harris Technologies is seeking an experienced Production Integration and Test Engineer with previous experience in maintaining and troubleshooting production test equipment using Factory Test procedures for large scale military avionics production lots. The Engineer will be the lead of a small group of engineers and technicians while keeping the production test equipment at a high availability rate to meet production delivery schedules. This also includes engineering diagnostic analysis and root cause analysis of faulty Test Sets and test equipment.
Essential Functions:
Responsibilities will include, though not limited to, the following:
- Lead a team of engineers and technicians in the day-to-day diagnosis of test set failure/break
- Develop and implement enhancements to the test solution design to improve availability, maintainability, usability, and test yield
- Maintain test sets for maintenance associated with replacing subassemblies, obsolete or damaged parts
- Lead failure investigations and perform RCCA on any defective test set subassemblies and components
- Assist build team with building new and repairing existing test stations and interface test adapters
- Assist in developing and improving maintenance methodologies and mistake proof planning
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s Degree of Science Degree in Electrical, Computer or Software Engineering and minimum 4 years of prior relevant experience. Graduate Degree and a minimum of 2 years of prior related experience. In lieu of a degree, minimum of 8 years of prior related experience.
- Experience with the test development process from requirement definition through qualification and production support.
- Experience with hands-on hardware integration and troubleshooting
- Experience with Automated Test Equipment
- Experience with generating and modifying Test Set drawings and Test Set parts lists
- Experience in a fast-paced manufacturing environment
Preferred Additional Skills:
- Experience with Atlassian tools such as JIRA/Bitbucket/Confluence/Crucible.
- Experience with software source control process and tools.
- Experience with the test development process from requirement definition through qualification and production support.
- Experience with hands-on hardware integration and troubleshooting (python modification, Basic Linux knowledge, network switches and routers).
- Experience with Automated Test Equipment.
- Experience with generating and modifying Test Set drawings and Test Set parts lists.
- Experience with fiber optics protocols.
- Experience working with a multi-discipline technical team (mechanical, electrical, manufacturing, software, systems)
- Experienced working on a production floor for avionics hardware.
- Excellent written and verbal communications skills.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Experience in mentoring and growing technical staff.
