Job Description:
Our team is looking for an experienced security professional with proficient knowledge of 32 CFR Part 117 NISPOM and practical knowledge of project management. May manage projects or processes with general supervision. Communicates with contacts inside and outside of own department to explain and interpret operational processes, practices, and procedures. Recommends enhancements to systems and processes. Works to achieve operational targets for specific programs and projects with moderate impact on departmental results.
- Develops and administers security programs and procedures for classified, sensitive, or proprietary materials, documents, and equipment.
- Researches and implements federal security regulations, maintaining knowledge and awareness of interdisciplinary compliance requirements (finance, cyber, information technology, and trade compliance).
- Obtains rulings, interpretations, and acceptable deviations for compliance with regulations from government agencies.
- Prepares manuals outlining regulations, and establishes procedures for handling, storing, retaining records, and access by personnel or visitors to restricted records and materials.
- Conducts security education training and security audits.
- Investigates security violations and prepares reports specifying preventive action to be taken.
- Collects, assimilates, and interprets intelligence information and disseminates to the appropriate stakeholder or investigating authority.
- Work with security team and employees and produces results.
- Communicates with all levels of employees and government customers.
- Troubleshoots issues and works independently.
- Work with the security team on all required assignments within the security department.
- The selected candidate should thrive in a fast-paced work environment with high expectations, significantly diverse assignments, collaborative/team settings across all levels.
- Works under general supervision. May be responsible for entire projects or processes within job area. May be responsible for providing guidance, coaching and training to other employees within job area. May manage projects at this level with responsibility for the delegation of work and the review of others' work product.
Essential Functions:
- Assists in the development and implementation of policies and operating procedures supporting government, customer agency requirements.
- Conducts security education classes and security self-inspection audits.
- Prepares manuals outlining regulations and establishes procedures for handling, storing, and keeping records and for granting personnel and visitor’s access to restricted records and materials.
- Investigates security violations and prepares reports specifying preventive action to be taken.
- Oversees the installation and maintenance of GSA approved storage devices, secure areas, alarms and access control systems.
- Communicates with all levels of employees and government customers.
- Troubleshoots issues and works independently.
- The selected candidate should thrive in a fast-paced work environment with high expectations, significantly diverse assignments, collaborative/team settings across all levels.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s Degree and minimum 4 years of prior relevant experience. Graduate Degree and a minimum of 2 years of prior related experience. In lieu of a degree, minimum of 8 years of prior related experience.
- Active Secret Clearance with the ability to get a Top-Secret Clearance.
Preferred Additional Skills:
- Experience with Microsoft Windows and Server operating systems.
- Working knowledge of all applicable DoD Manual 5205.07 Volumes 1-4, DoD. Instruction 52.05.11, 32 CFR Part 117 NISPOM, & ICD 705 requires practical knowledge of job area. typically obtained through advanced education combined with experience.
