Job Description:

The L3Harris Public Safety and Professional Communications sector has an availability for a Project Manager to join our team in Lynchburg, VA.  The Project Manager will act as a servant leader for multiple agile project teams to deliver project(s) that span across one or more value streams using the implementation of a Lean/Agile mindset.

This role will serve as the Release Train Engineer, managing and optimizing the flow of value through an Agile Release Train, and instill process discipline and a culture of accountability focused on customer satisfaction and supreme quality.

Essential Functions:

  • Manage and optimize the flow of value through an Agile Release Train (ART)
  • Manage schedule execution and planning the software / architecture releases
  • Facilitate Program Increment (PI) Planning readiness by fostering a continuous exploration process which drives the synthesis of a Vision, a Roadmap, and Backlogs, and through Pre- and Post-PI Planning meetings.
  • Facilitate Scrum of Scrums meetings and other less formal forums in support of development, testing, and deployment efforts
  • Communicate with customers on development progress throughout PI cycle and on the status of testing, deployment, and release readiness
  • Acquiring understanding of the large complex software system and assess risk and understand varied customer concerns
  • Coach teams, Scrum Masters, Product Owners, and Project/Program Leaders in agile practices, and promote teamwork to achieve PI goals and agile maturity
  • Work with the Scrum teams to identify dependencies and critical path items
  • Working with the contractor Program Management Office (PMO) on program execution test data

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's with 9 years prior experience, Graduate Degree with 7 years prior experience. In lieu of a degree, minimum of 13 years of prior related experience.

Preferred Additional Skills:

  • Strong oral/written communication and interpersonal skills, including exceptional presentation and facilitation skills.
  • Experience with Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Project.
  • Able to work within a cross-functional, geographically dispersed team environment.
  • Demonstrated the capacity to effectively foster team building within and beyond his/her work group.
  • Ability to understand and evaluate technical and non-technical documents.
  • Well organized, ability to meet deadlines, self-starter and be able to multi-task between multiple consecutive critical tasks.
  • Cognizant of ISO quality system procedures and documents.
  • Should possess shared L3Harris values of Integrity, Teamwork, Excellence, and Accountability.
