Job Description:

L3Harris Integrated Vision Solutions (IVS) Londonderry, a leading designer and manufacturer of laser, night vision and electro-optic devices, is seeking a LabVIEW Software Engineer to pursue a career in a fast-paced company where new designs become production reality. As a member of our product development team, you will design, develop, test and maintain software applications used on modern military EO/IR test equipment. The ideal candidate will have experience developing scalable and reliable LabVIEW-based solutions, integrating hardware interfaces, and supporting engineering teams in the creation of efficient assembly and test platforms.

Essential Functions:

• Design, develop, and maintain software applications using National Instruments LabVIEW
• Create and support automated test systems for engineering, manufacturing, and laboratory environments
• Develop software for data acquisition, instrument control, signal processing, and system monitoring
• Integrate LabVIEW applications with hardware such as power supplies, cameras, oscilloscopes, energy meters, positioning equipment and third-party instruments.
• Write, debug, and optimize LabVIEW code for performance, reliability, and maintainability
• Develop user interfaces, control panels, and operator displays for technical and non-technical users
• Perform unit testing, system testing, validation, and troubleshooting of software and integrated systems
• Collaborate with internal customers and other engineering disciplines to define requirements and implement solutions
• Prepare and maintain technical documentation including software designs, test procedures, user guides, and validation reports
• Support software upgrades, legacy code maintenance, and configuration management activities
• Participate in software project estimation, planning and execution
• Prepare and present software designs to peers, Engineering leadership, and internal customers
• Implement software development processes and best practices
• Participate in system integration, debug and test of equipment in lab or production environments

Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s Degree in Software Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Computer Science, or a related technical field and minimum 4 years of prior relevant experience. Graduate Degree and a minimum of 2 years of prior related experience. In lieu of a degree, minimum of 8 years of prior related experience.
• 3+ years experience developing applications in LabVIEW
• 3+ years experience developing production test station equipment

Preferred Additional Skills:

• Knowledge of opto-mechanical test station and equipment design
• Experience developing LabVIEW imaging tools for vision acquisition
• Knowledge of data acquisition systems, instrumentation, and automated test equipment
• Experience interfacing software with hardware components and communication protocols (e.g. USB, RS-232, etc)
• Understanding of software debugging, troubleshooting, and test methodologies
• Ability to read and interpret engineering requirements and technical documentation
• Experience with software configuration management tools, preferably Apache Subversion (SVN)
• Experience integrating with Manufacturing Execution Systems (MES)
• Familiarity with Python, C/C++, C#, or MATLAB for integration or supplementary development
• Experience with electrical schematics and circuits
• Knowledge of high-volume production processes and workflows
• Experience in aerospace, defense, manufacturing, medical devices, or industrial automation environments
