Job Description:
L3Harris is seeking a Suppler Quality Technician to provide technical support to the supplier quality engineering teams. Responsibiliteis include conducting examinations and quality control inspections on non-conforming products, materials, components and parts at the receiving stages of the production process to ensure compliance with established quality and reliability standards and aid in Material Review Board (MRB) processes.
Essential Functions:
Candidates with Strong background in machining and molding preferred.
High consideration for the following comparable areas: thermal technology, lasers, and/or electronics.
Support Supplier Quality improvement through permanent feed-back provided to Supplier Quality Engineer (SQE) with regards to component quality level.
Support non-conformance material (NCM) management through reporting activity or preparations of the NCM parts to be returned to suppliers.
Verifies parts received against customer specifications, to ensure product compliance.
Resolves supplier quality product issues.
Attends MRB/NCM activities to support the resolution of supplier quality issues.
Assist NCM with Return Material Authorization (RMA) process.
Coordinate product purges due to supplier defects; Work with suppliers on-site; Assist with product sort.
Communicates to receiving inspection defect resolution.
Basic blueprint skills-Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing (GD&T).
Basic measurement skills using inspection equipment (Calipers, micrometers).
Qualifications:
Requires a High School Diploma or equivalent and a minimum of 6 years of prior quality experience or 2 years post-Secondary/associate’s degree with a minimum of 2 years of prior quality experience.
Preferred Additional Skills:
High volume manufacturing organizations with focus on government, military and law enforcement products other relevant areas considered.
Knowledge and use of CMM a Plus.
