Job Description:

The Director of Operations for Integrated Vision Solutions in Londonderry is responsible for the strategic planning and daily execution of manufacturing operations across multiple production lines and product families.  This position works closely with functional leaders to optimize material flow, equipment, and manpower to meet or exceed business objectives - including safety, cost, quality, delivery, capacity, and productivity.  This position provides leadership to an organization of over 250 manufacturing professionals, including managers, supervisors, technicians, and assemblers, responsible for delivering over $200M in annual revenue. 

Essential Functions:

  • Develop and implement strategies to meet cost, quality, delivery, customer satisfaction, EHS, and continuous improvement commitments
  • Inspire and lead a multi-disciplinary manufacturing team of managers, supervisors, technicians, and assemblers
  • Assume dotted line leadership of Integrated Production Team resources (QE, ME, Planner, etc.)
  • Keep team informed, clearly communicate goals and objectives to subordinates and assist them as necessary in developing effective daily production plans.
  • Define and hold teams accountable for production KPIs: safety, quality, delivery, cost, etc.
  • Assures conformance to product specifications and work instructions.
  • Leads yield improvement activities, drives measures to improve production methods, equipment performance, and quality of product utilizing Lean Manufacturing Principles.
  • Identify and perform capital equipment justification and process capital equipment request (CER) as required.
  • Drive advanced data collection and analysis for process mapping & cost reduction opportunities.
  • Performs weekly, monthly and quarterly staffing requirement evaluations, identify any excesses or shortfalls in staffing, take action to resolve any deficiencies or excess to the plan.
  • Conducts periodic assessments of all work areas for safety and cleanliness. Identify any issues, concerns or areas for improvement. Lead team in Safety, 5S, ESD, and FOD protocols, be exemplary role model.
  • Create & support implementation of cross training initiatives to support short & long term needs
  • Maintain responsibility for succession planning, organizational and talent development
  • Develop, implement and sustain success metrics, incorporating best practices, and effectively communicating improvements
  • Address and resolve workplace conflicts and issues to maintain a high level of team morale and performance.
  • Willingness to lead teams on weekends when required.
  • Provide daily, weekly and monthly executive status reports as required.  Create & present monthly product & program presentations as required.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s Degree with a minimum of 15 years of prior related experience. Graduate Degree with a minimum of 13 years of prior related experience. In lieu of a degree, minimum of 19 years of prior related experience.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Expertise in Manufacturing Operations, Project Management and/or Program Management  
  • Advanced business knowledge with broad leadership experiences across multiple professional disciplines (Operations, Quality, Supply Chain, Engineering)
  • Budget or P&L accountability for a department
  • Excellent customer-facing and internal communication skills
  • Experience in complex electronics, optics, integration, and test processes
  • Experience in Aerospace & Defense business sector
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Solid organizational skills including attention to detail and multitasking skills
  • Proven record of delivering end-to-end stakeholder requirements
