L3Harris Trenchant is an elite global team of engineers and security researchers charged with building world-class computer security products. Trenchant’s expertise is the by-product of the L3Harris acquisition of two highly-regarded information security businesses – Azimuth Security and Linchpin Labs. United under Trenchant, we are a key component of L3Harris’ Intelligence & Cyber Division. We are a trusted, discrete partner furnishing security products, consultancy, training and integration services to allied security, defence, and law enforcement agencies.
What the role will involve
The responsibilities of your role will include the following:
- Work closely with security researchers to turn research outputs into commercial products.
- Develop mature, production-ready capabilities from vulnerability reports and proof-of-concept code.
- Communicate technical progress and challenges clearly, adapting your language to different audiences.
- Contribute to planning and prioritization alongside the organization’s commercial team.
- Provide engineering support for customer-reported issues.
- Mentor and guide junior engineers in cybersecurity and software engineering practices.
- Stay up to date with industry trends and new security techniques to enhance our products.
What you’ll bring
To succeed in this role, you’ll need the following experience and skills:
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or related field with 4+ years of experience, or a Master’s degree.
- Alternatively, 8+ years of hands-on experience in cybersecurity and software engineering in place of a degree.
- Strong understanding of OS and application vulnerabilities.
- Experience analyzing malware, developing proof-of-concept exploits, and assessing software patch mitigations.
- Proficient in C programming, memory management, assembly, and working with undocumented APIs.
- Deep knowledge of mobile platforms (Android or iOS), including OS internals, security mechanisms, and languages like Objective-C, Swift, Java, or Kotlin.
- Skilled in reverse engineering tools (e.g., IDA Pro, Ghidra, Hopper) and dynamic analysis tools (e.g., Frida, ADB).
- Familiar with modern development tools such as Git, GitLab CI, and CMake.
