Job Description:
The Aerojet Rocketdyne Segment of L3Harris Technologies is growing in The Rocket City, Huntsville, AL! We are expanding and production has begun in our third facility in the Huntsville area, a 379,000 sq.ft. manufacturing facility near the Huntsville airport. We are also continuing to grow at our Huntsville center of excellence for Missile Solutions Program Management and Engineering, as well as our Advanced Manufacturing Facility in north Huntsville, where we produce advanced propulsion products. We are seeking a highly motivated Senior Manager of Program Management that is interested in helping increase production rates by taking full advantage of the existing facilities in Camden, AR, continue to expand our production capabilities through capital investments and process optimization and continue to expand into our new Huntsville facility.
Essential Functions:
15% Program Capture/Planning in conjunction with the Program & Proposal Managers
Develop and execute program capture plans working with business management and engineering.
Plan the execution of programs and activities in accordance with the contractual requirements and the procedures of L3Harris.
Develop productibility and affordability initiatives to support the strategic direction of the business unit.
Develop and implement long-term goals and objectives to achieve the successful outcome of the programs.
Develop an annual operating plan and a long range strategic plan to support the financial goals of the Aerojet Rocketdyne Segment.
Develop metrics and monitor them to assess the strengths of the programs and to identify areas for improvement.
Support development and review proposals for new opportunities and follow-on programs.
Develop strong relationships with current and potential customers to develop strategies that will grow the business unit and the enterprise as a whole.
25% Staff the programs
In conjunction with the Centers of Excellence (Engineering, Operations, etc.), ensure that all programs are adequately resourced with well-qualified staff.
Develop personnel on the programs through growth opportunities, along with coaching, to establish breadth and depth of the business area.
Establish business and personal performance goals for all program staff and conduct regular assessments of the progress toward the established goals.
25% Lead the programs
Ensure all staff members receive appropriate training in accordance with L3Harris procedures and state law.
Lead program staff by providing vision, direction, input and feedback; as well as removing barriers to their success.
Communicate with customers and other stakeholders to gain support for the program and to solicit future business through continued awareness of Aerojet Rocketdyne’s capabilities.
Establish open communication with superiors, peers and subordinates to ensure the effective and efficient program execution.
Coordinate the activities among different programs in the division to increase effectiveness and efficiency.
25% Control the programs
Prepare weekly and monthly reports/briefings on the programs for internal and customer executive management.
Ensure that the programs operate within the approved budgets and that any issues are surfaced in a timely manner.
Execute Recovery/Return to Green plans on programs with major challenges.
Monitor awards, sales, profit and cash flow projections and report variances to the Division Sr. Director on a weekly basis.
Review and approve the estimate to complete and profit booking rate for all contracts in the portfolio.
Ensure the required information to have invoices generated and submitted to customers is timely for cash collection.
Identify and manage the risks and opportunities associated with the contracts.
Effectively Monitor the programs on a regular basis and conduct periodic evaluations to identify opportunities for improvement.
Up to 25% business travel required to L3Harris and customer sites.
Qualifications:
Bachelor’s Degree with a minimum of 12 years of prior related program management experience. Graduate Degree with a minimum of 10 years of prior related program management experience. In lieu of a degree, minimum of 16 years of prior related program management experience.
Requires ability to direct and control overall organizational resources with demonstrated managerial level leadership.
Extensive knowledge of how to manage successful programs through planning, problem solving, multi-tasking and use of interpersonal skill and extensive knowledge of EVMS.
Active US Secret Security Clearance.
Preferred Additional Skills:
Advanced Degree in Engineering and/or MBA preferred.
Experience with Solid Rocket Motor production.
EVM and/or CAM certifications.
PMP certification or Project Management certificate.
