Job Description:
The Aerojet Rocketdyne Segment of L3Harris Technologies is seeking an Associate Manager, Quality Managementto work at either our existing state-of-the-art Advanced Manufacturing Facility (AMF) in Toney, AL, and/or our new, AMF in Huntsville, AL, which will be our inert manufacturing facility for fabrication and assembly of composite rocket motor hardware. The AssociateManager, Quality Management leads, directs, and reviews the work of professionals or lower level supervisors. Communicates within and outside own function to explain and gain cooperation on policies and practices. Makes moderate to substantial improvements to processes, systems, and solutions. Plans and establishes goals and objectives for a team with direct impact on the short-term operational results for the department. Requires practical knowledge in leading/managing projects, processes, and employees and has strong knowledge within professional discipline.
Essential Functions:
Ensure compliance with AS9100 aerospace standard and ISO17025 testing and calibration standard.
Meet customer requirements for hardware acceptance.
Update and enforce regulatory requirements to deliver safe products.
Integrate industry best practices for competitive quality output.
Maintain company quality standards.
Lead and/or support training and continuous improvement initiatives to enhance performance and customer satisfaction.
Engage with internal and external stakeholders to effectively communicate and support organizational policies and practices.
Facilitate understanding and cooperation across different company functions.
Implement significant enhancements to processes, systems, solutions, or products to improve performance.
Address complex problems through thorough information collection, analysis, and investigation.
Lead and/or participate in setting strategic goals and objectives for the team.
Manage daily budget aspects, such as staff overtime, without being responsible for the overall budget or P&L.
Nurture talent through mentoring, feedback, goal setting, development opportunities, and fostering a professional growth environment.
Ability to obtain US Security Clearence.
Ability to travel between sites in Huntsville, AL.
Qualifications:
Bachelor’s Degree and minimum 6 years prior related quality experience. Graduate Degree with a minimum of 4 years of prior related quality experience. In lieu of a degree, minimum of 10 years of prior related quality experience.
5+ years experience in the field of manufacturing with strong knowledge and skills in quality or a similar role with an understanding of the impact of work on other areas of the organization.
2+ years experience leading and managing the execution of processes, projects, tactics, and employees within a team
Preferred Additional Skills:
Aerospace and defense quality experience.
Regulatory and Auditing (AS9100 & ISO17025) experience.
APQP/PPAP certification.
Lean Six Sigma certification.
Statistical and data analysis experience.
