Job Description:
Reporting to the Division General Manager, the Principal, Product Management / Site Lead serves as the site lead for the for the Kigre site in Hilton Head, SC with responsibility for meeting quality, schedule, and financial performance commitments regarding the company’s laser glass and transmitter business. This position requires the individual to be capable of handling a broad range of competing priorities on a daily basis. The Product Manager is responsible for using his/her project management and technical background to ensure Kigre products meet schedule, cost, and technical performance against all customer requirements. He/she will be the business lead and primary customer contact with responsibility for the business unit’s financial performance, new business growth and follow on business within their product portfolio.

Essential Functions:
- Acts as the site lead, responsible for developing the business strategy, business unit financial projections and day to day business operations.
- Acts as primary customer interface for all products and leads customer reviews to discuss technical, cost and schedule activities.
- Travels to customer and supplier locations domestically and internationally and represents division at trade shows.
- Provides overall direction for assigned projects/programs over the entire development and production life cycle.
- Identifies customer growth opportunities through the capture of new or adjacent business opportunities.
- Responsible for the quality, schedule, and technical performance of products.
- Responds to all customer Request for Quotations in a timely and efficient manner.
- Provides input and supports implementation of root cause analysis / corrective action(s) when necessary to initiate program changes.
- In alignment with Quality, Engineering and Manufacturing Departments, reviews product design and configuration to ensure compliance with product specification, quality, customer requirements, legal requirements, and company standards.
- Involved with design changes, specification, and Bill of Materials (BOM) changes, and drawing package release.
- Coordinates and provides required reports to management and customers regarding quality, product performance and test results.
- Coordinate customer findings and scorecards.
- Works towards resolution of customer issues and concerns.
- Represents the site and corporation within the local community and is active with local Chamber of Commerce.
- Demonstrates ethical and professional behavior in accordance with company values.
- Perform job duties in a manner that maintains compliance with environmental, health and safety regulations, policies, and procedures.
- All other assignments as required.
Qualifications:
- United States Citizenship required with ability to obtain and maintain a security clearance.
- Education – Bachelor’s Degree with a minimum of 12 years of prior related experience or Graduate Degree with a minimum of 10 years prior related experience. In lieu of a degree, minimum of 16 years of prior related experience.
- Minimum of 10 years’ experience in an optical, mechanical and / or electrical manufacturing environment
- 10+ years’ experience developing and executing strategies in a DoD environment.
- 10+ years’ experience evaluating and making recommendations on Contracts and Bid Proposals.
- 8+ years’ experience in continuous improvement environment including root cause evaluation and corrective action reporting.
- 6+ years managing P&L for programs or business unit.
- Possess and maintain a valid US Passport
- Possess and maintain a valid driver’s license.
