Job Description:
Provides nursing assessment, intervention, and evaluation for routine occupational and non-occupational illness and injuries. Responsible for assessing employee's physical and mental health and making referrals, if necessary, to physicians and other providers. Responsible for administering and monitoring return to work programs, worker’s compensation case management and tracking, including medical records, individual employee health records, occupational health and safety logs. Works with EHS on disposition of injuries and employee case management. Typically has responsibility for one or more special programs (e.g., blood drive, health promotion, etc.).
Essential Functions:
- Liase with physicians and outside clinics and labs, perform phlebotomy, audiograms, vision tests, and drug and alcohol testing
- Manage Worker’s Compensation cases and administer and monitor the employee Return to Work Program
- Manage medical records, individual employee health records, and occupational health and safety logs
- Prepare for the many physicals required by DOT, FAA, DCMA and more
- Responsible for first aid care, injury case management, emergency treatment for injuries, pulmonary function testing
- Responsible for assessing employees' physical and mental health and making referrals, if necessary, to physicians and other providers
- Work with Environmental, Health, and Safety (EHS) on disposition of injuries and employee case management
- Responsible for one or more special programs (e.g. blood drive, health promotion, etc.)
- Perform other duties as assigned
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s Degree and minimum 4 years of prior relevant experience. Graduate Degree and a minimum of 2 years of prior related experience. In lieu of a degree, minimum of 8 years of prior related experience.
- Must have active, Unrestricted license to practice as a Registered Nurse in the state of Texas (or compact state)
- Active Clearance is not required.
Preferred Additional Skills:
- Experience with conducting drug and alcohol testing, injury case management, emergency treatment for injuries
- Experience with conducting Audiograms, pulmonary function testing, phlebotomy and preparation for work related physicals
- Experience with electronic recordkeeping systems
- Ability to work well with others, including hourly workforce and members of management
- Ability to effectively communicate with parties external to the organization (e.g., customers, vendors, etc.)
- Proficient with basic computer applications (Microsoft Office, Outlook, Edge, etc.)
