Job Description:
We are seeking a highly experienced Senior Program Manager and People Manager with a strong background in defense aerospace and expertise, high-profile mid to large program execution, people management, and expertise in Earned Value Management (EVM). This role is critical for overseeing complex aerospace programs, ensuring they meet performance, schedule, and budgetary objectives while aligning with strategic business goals.
The qualified candidate must be able to:
- Program Leadership: Lead and manage multiple internal research and development (IRAD) programs from inception through delivery, ensuring adherence to technical, cost, and schedule requirements. Manage early program and capture of new business to add to the program portfolio. Manage team of program managers execution sustainment, spares and repairs, and business capture.
- EVM Implementation: Apply Earned Value Management principles to monitor and control program performance, analyze variances, and implement corrective actions as necessary.
- Stakeholder Management: Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including engineering, production, and supply chain, to ensure alignment and effective communication throughout the program lifecycle.
- Risk Management: Identify, assess, and mitigate risks associated with program execution, maintaining a proactive approach to problem-solving.
- Budget Oversight: Develop, manage, and report on program budgets, ensuring financial accountability and forecasting accuracy.
- Performance Reporting: Prepare and present program status reports, EVM metrics, and key performance indicators to senior leadership and stakeholders.
- Demonstrate and insist on ethical and professional behavior in accordance with company values.
Essential Functions:
- Responsible for the cost, schedule, and technical performance of program(s).
- Partner with team stakeholders to develop and capture new business to grow the portfolio.
- Drives all phases of the IRAD projects to successful completion.
- Drives program planning to achieve key business and financial objectives for orders, revenue recognition, operating income, and free cash flow for new, continuing, or current programs.
- Effectively manages team including performance management, learning, growth, and effective execution of program goals, objectives, and guiding principles.
- Manages preparation of program/project planning documentation for communication to the leadership team
- Effectively communicates with all levels of co-workers, senior management, and customer.
- Works with Functions assigned to the program from technical, manufacturing, and administrative areas to identify areas of improvement for systems and processes.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Project Management, Business Administration, or a related field and a minimum of 15 years of experience in program management within the defense aerospace industry.
- Proven experience in Earned Value Management, with relevant certifications (e.g., PMP, EVMS) strongly preferred.
- Must Have the ability to get and maintaing a Top Secret Security Clearance
