Job Description:
The Professional Development Trainer is responsible for identifying, developing, and delivering training programs that enhance the skills, performance, and productivity of the organization's employees in alignment with the company’s strategic goals.
Essential Functions:
- Collaborate with management and subject matter experts to assess professional development training needs.
- Design and implement effective training programs suitable for on-the-job training and professional development, ensuring that they meet the identified needs for skill development and improvement.
- Develop training materials and activities, selecting the appropriate format (in-person, online, etc.) and method (formal, informal).
- Facilitate engaging training sessions, workshops, activities and other learning opportunities using a variety of instructional techniques and formats.
- Coordinate with Operations & Technical Training to utilize internal or external resources for department-specific training needs.
- Create and manage learning content within the Learning Management System (LMS), ensuring accurate tracking of completion records.
- Solicit & analyze training feedback and make recommendations for continuous improvement of the training programs.
- Work with the Procurement and Supply Chain department to comply with SC-01 Global Procurement and Supply Chain policy when contracting with learning vendors.
- Prepare and process training-related expense requests, ensuring the use of correct charge codes and effective descriptions of training.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s Degree in Training & Development, Human Resources, Education, Business Administration, or related field, and a minimum of 9 years of prior relevant experience. Graduate Degree and a minimum of 7 years of prior related experience. In lieu of a degree, minimum of 13 years of prior related experience. Advanced certification or degree in training & development is a plus.
- Proven experience as a trainer, training facilitator, or similar role.
- Excellent understanding of effective teaching methodologies and tools.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to lead, motivate, and direct participants of varying backgrounds and skill levels.
- Proficient in MS Office and Learning Management Systems (LMS).
- Knowledge of current training and development trends and best practices.
- Ability to evaluate and research training options and alternatives.
- Ability to achieve and maintain Secret clearance.
Preferred Additional Skills:
- Familiarity with the company’s industry and the specific requirements of the related job role is a plus.
