Job Description:
L3Harris is currently seeking a Lead Software Engineer to join our team. This position will be based at our Greenville, TX facility and offers a 9/80 schedule.
Essential Functions:
Experience in Agile development and essentials of DevOps.
Software component development, implementation, and integration in Linux.
Experience using scripting languages such as Bash and Python.
Proven record of communicating effectively and work closely with assigned teams.
Ability to analyze requirements and design tradeoffs against scope, cost, and schedule constraints.
Champions continuous improvement, process innovation, and lessons learned activities.
Document software designs, practices, and development procedures.
Write unit tests and conduct automated testing of resultant software.
Conduct automated scanning of software and identify vulnerabilities and defects
Engage and lead code reviews and system design reviews.
Support continuous improvement, process innovation and lessons learned activities into software development process.
Mentor and provide technical guidance to junior engineers.
Capable of collaborating closely with other engineers in a small team or working independently as needed.
Required Qualifications:
Bachelor’s Degree and minimum 9 years of prior relevant experience, or Graduate Degree and a minimum of 7 years of prior relevant experience.
Eligible to obtain DoD Security Clearance, which requires U.S. Citizenship.
Demonstrated experience with object-oriented development using C++ or JAVA.
Demonstrated experience with software design and modeling.
Demonstrated development skills in Windows and/or Linux environments
Demonstrated experience integrating third party APIs and network-based communications.
Preferred Additional Skills:
Demonstrated experience in Design Patterns and Frameworks.
Demonstrated experience in SQL/NoSQL database design and queries.
Software and hardware troubleshooting background.
Demonstrated experience with software automated test tools and frameworks.
Active Secret or TS/SCI clearance.
Demonstrated multi-threaded, parallel, and/or GPU programming experience.
Demonstrated Google Protocol Buffers and network socket programming
Demonstrated experience with deployment and maintenance of cloud environments (ex. AWS, Azure)
Familiarity with databases (SQL, and NoSQL) and RESTful APIs
Understanding of virtualization, containerization, and hybrid computing environments.
Demonstrated experience with Agile development methodologies and version control.
Demonstrated experience in conveying complex technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders through reporting & presentations.
