Job Description:
- Creates, develops, plans, writes, and edits aircraft technical manuals for operational, instructional, maintenance or test procedures for paper, multimedia or web-based publication using industry standards.
- Researches and translates technical information into manuals and/or web-based documents for non-technical and technical users.
- Recommends formats responsive to technical and customer requirements.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s Degree in a related field with 6 or more years of relevant experience. An equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered in lieu of a degree.
- Technical publication authoring experience using documentation processing tools (Adobe Framemaker).
- Technical publication authoring experience using XML writing techniques with a focus on S1000D processes and standards.
- Ability to read and interpret aircraft engineering documentation and define significant structural, electronic, and avionic changes to effected aircraft.
- Prior experience authoring Technical Documentation, User Manuals, Flight Manuals, and Maintenance Documentation in a MILCERT Structured environment for Air Force, Army, or Navy programs.
- Must be able to work well with colleagues, internal customers, and external customers.
- Must be able to work within and potentially lead defined budgets and meet schedule deadlines.
- Must be able to assist in planning, executing, and reporting program action with the Technical Publications management team.
- Prior experience operating or maintaining the RC-135, Cobra Ball, and Combat Sent platforms.
- Prior experience with S1000D standard and authoring tools.
