Job Description:
This is an electrical engineering design position responsible for developing cable harness assemblies within the Space & Airborne Systems (SAS) Segment of L3Harris. This team, located at multiple sites across the United States, designs cable harness assemblies that are used in missions spanning across the domains our SAS segment designs mission deliverable hardware. Designed cable assemblies are used in space-based applications, avionics systems, and verification testing purposes. Team members need general working knowledge of connector interfaces, assembly tooling, and design tools. Additionally, developing design documentation for cable harness assemblies, and the ability to follow defined design processes while performing to program schedule and budget constraints are a necessary skill.

Essential Functions:
- Design of point to point and complex cable assemblies
- Material selection to meet the requirements of space and airborne based applications.
- Capture interconnect requirements from provided subsystem requirements documentation to define electrical characteristics
- Develop custom cables and harnesses
- Create requirements, design documentation, verification documents, validation procedures and other technical documents as needed
- Collaborate with engineering personnel to ensure adherence to customer expectations or requirements
- Conduct technical presentations
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s Degree Electrical Engineering, Electrical Engineering Technology, or Computer Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering Technology from an accredited college or university and minimum 4 years of prior relevant experience. Graduate Degree and a minimum of 2 years of prior related experience. In lieu of a degree, minimum of 8 years of prior related experience.
- Ability to obtain a TS/SCI security clearance
- 4+ years cable design experience and ability to work design tools
- 2+ years of AutoCAD design experience
Preferred Additional Skills:
- Siemen’s Capital Harness Design experience
- Zuken E3 cable design experience
- AutoCAD cable design experience
In compliance with pay transparency requirements, the salary range for this role is $79,000.00 -$146,500.00 in NY. This is not a guarantee of compensation or salary, as final offer amount may vary based on factors including but not limited to experience and geographic location.
