We engineer and maintain night vision goggles, radar systems and tactical radios. The L3Harris Falcon family of radios delivers network-centric communications for superior command and control, real-time voice, data, full-motion HD video and crossbanding for mission-critical communications in a single, integrated platform. Notably, we are the proud designer, supplier and maintainer of the 50,000 tactical radios in the Bowman tactical C4I system in service with the UK Armed Forces and are working to define and deliver the next generation system, Morpheus.

What the role will involve

The responsibilities of the role may include the following:

• Use of Automated Test Equipment (ATE) for the test of product.
• Use electronic systems to track repairs and update correctly.
• Check Assemblies meet quality standards and seek advice from supervisor or Manufacturing Engineer as necessary.
• Work with other Cell members using lean manufacturing techniques and participate in lean production activities.
• Work to daily targets, in line with customer requirements.
• Work to defined processes and work instructions
• Assist Supervisors, undertaking any reasonable task as directed.

What you’ll bring

The role requires the following experience and skills:

• Ability to communicate and work in a team
• Keen interest in soldering, repair or rework
• Interest in manufacturing and repair principles

Desirable but not essential:

• Previous experience in soldering
  • Work completed to IPC7711/7721 standard with option of in-house training
• Previous experience in repair or rework
• Knowledge of 5S+1 principles
• Experience in continuous improvement
