Position Summary: The Indirect Procurement Specialist is responsible for managing the procurement of indirect goods and services across the organization. This role involves sourcing, supplier negotiation, and contract management to ensure the best value is obtained for all indirect procurement activities.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and implement procurement strategies for indirect categories such as IT, operations, capital, professional services, facilities management, marketing, and HR services.
- Conduct market research to identify potential suppliers and assess market trends that may impact supply and pricing.
- Manage the Request for Proposal (RFP) process, including document preparation, bid analysis, and supplier selection.
- Negotiate contracts with suppliers to secure advantageous terms, focusing on cost reduction, quality improvement, and service level agreements.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with key suppliers, conducting regular business reviews to ensure performance metrics are met.
- Collaborate with internal stakeholders to understand their requirements and ensure alignment with the organization's procurement strategy.
- Monitor and manage supplier performance, addressing any issues related to delivery, quality, or compliance.
- Drive continuous improvement initiatives in the procurement process to increase efficiency and effectiveness.
- Ensure procurement activities comply with company policies and regulatory requirements.
- Maintain accurate records of procurement transactions and prepare reports for management review.
- Mentor and support junior procurement staff, sharing knowledge and best practices.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Supply Chain Management, or a related field and a minimum of 4 years of related experience experience in indirect procurement or a similar role within a complex organizational setting, or a Master’s degree and 2 years of prior related experience.
- In lieu of a degree, minimum of 8 years of prior related experience.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Strong understanding of procurement principles, contract law, and supplier management.
- Excellent negotiation and analytical skills, with a track record of achieving cost savings and service improvements.
- Proficient with procurement software systems and tools, as well as Microsoft Office applications.
- Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills, capable of working collaboratively with cross-functional teams.
- Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously and work under tight deadlines.
In compliance with pay transparency requirements, the salary range for this role in Colorado, Hawaii, Illinois, Maryland, Minnesota, Vermont, Washington State and New York State is $58,500-$108,500. For California, Seattle, Washington D.C., Maryland Greater Washington D.C. area and New York City, the salary range for this role is $67,500-$125,500. This is not a guarantee of compensation or salary, as final offer amount may vary based on factors including but not limited to experience and geographic location.
