Job Description:
As a Chief Systems Engineer – Intel & Cyber, you will lead the technical development of cellular and P-LEO-based communications systems, implementation of projects involved in the development and fielding of ruggedized and transportable communications solutions. Candidates should have a strong background in networking, AI model optimization and deployment, and a deep understanding of Cellular, SATCOM technologies, and Software-Defined Enterprise Networking (SDEN) architectures.
Essential Functions:
- Lead the systems engineering team in the design, development, and implementation of complex engineering projects
- Provide expert guidance on networking protocols, AI model optimization, and deployment strategies
- Drive the development of Cellular and SATCOM technology solutions, ensuring they meet industry standards and customer requirements.
- Architect and oversee the implementation of SDEN solutions, ensuring scalability, reliability, and security.
- Drive system/subsystem/component level requirements and CONOPS development
- Work closely with software and test engineers to ensure design and implementation meet the requirements
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to integrate new technologies and methodologies into existing systems.
- Develop and maintain technical roadmaps, project documentation, and systems engineering processes.
- Lead the integration and field testing of communication solutions into larger systems (Starlink, Cellular, and satellite ground network infrastructure)
- Elicit of requirements from customers and other technical community stakeholders
- Develop CONOPS including system/subsystem-level sequence diagrams, user cases and user stories
- Ability to obtain and maintain any additional clearances as required
- Up to 10% travel may be required
- Other duties as required
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s Degree and minimum 9 years of prior relevant experience. Graduate Degree and a minimum of 7 years of prior related experience. In lieu of a degree, minimum of 13 years of prior related experience.
- Active Secret Security Clearance.
Preferred Additional Skills:
- Active Top Secret/SCI Clearance highly preferred
- Demonstrated leadership skills and experience managing a team of engineers.
- Proven track record in the optimization and deployment of AI models.
- Experience leading the development of P-LEO and cellular capabilities including short-burst data (SBD) and associated hardware
- Experience with Cellular, SATCOM (P-LEO, MEO, GEO), and other Beyond Line-of-Sight technologies and architectures
- Experience in wireless system design and architecture, system integration, test, debugging and defect analysis, mitigation, and resolution
- Experience with system modeling and simulation software
- Experience with development programs using the Agile and/or Agile SAFe methodology
- Experience with programming languages such as Python and embedded drive programing is a plus
- Experience with Model Based Systems Engineering (MBSE), on projects/programs with tools, such as, MagicDraw/Cameo System Modelor, JAMA, DOORS, Enterprise Architect, Rhapsody, and other RM/PLM tools would also be a plus.
- Experience with CM tool sets (Atlassian Jira, Confluence)
- Familiar with one or more of source code repository tools
- Excellent people skills, with experience leading and collaborating in a multi-disciplinary, diverse, and dynamic team environment.
