As the premier provider of Space Domain Awareness (SDA) mission solutions for the United States Space Force, L3Harris is looking for a candidate to develop advanced cloud engineering concepts for the Agile Portfolio Engineering (APE) program. L3Harris is seeking professionals to work in a dynamic environment to solve challenging technical problems. Individuals will perform system software development, design, implementation, test, and configuration management. The ideal candidate should have experience with the full software development lifecycle. This position is onsite located in Colorado Springs, CO and requires a Secret Security Clearance.
Essential Functions:
- Working under general oversight, provide solutions with strong knowledge of job area and broad knowledge of project management.
- Develop cloud architectures for web-based applications.
- Design, develop, and test software applications for large-scale operational systems.
- Responsible for providing guidance, coaching and training to other employees within job area.
- May manage large projects or processes that are both inside and outside of immediate job area.
- Work consists of making moderate to substantial improvement or enhancements to systems and processes to improve performance of job area.
- Communicates within and outside of own function or business area and has responsibility for communicating with parties external to the organization.
- Up to 10% travel may be required, including international travel.
- Ability to obtain U.S. DoD Secret Security clearance.
- Ability to obtain Security+ certification in less than 60 days.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s Degree and minimum 6-9 years of prior relevant experience. Graduate Degree and a minimum of 4-6 years of prior related experience. In lieu of a degree, minimum of 10-12 years of prior related experience.
- Experience developing software in Java and Python.
- Demonstrated expertise in microservice development, CI/CD pipelines, and containerized architectures.
- Experience with Cloud Native Technologies (Docker, Kubernetes, OpenShift, etc.).
- Experience with Cloud Infrastructure (AWS, Azure, etc.).
- Experience developing and deploying software using a CI/CD pipeline.
- Experience with software build tools (Gradle, Make).
- Experience with static code analysis tools (SonarQube, Fortify).
- Experience with automated infrastructure provisioning and maintenance using Infrastructure as Code (IaC).
- Experience with Agile software development and the software development lifecycle.
- Experience utilizing team collaboration tools (Confluence, Jira, Git).
Preferred Additional Skills:
- Active U.S. DoD Secret Security clearance.
- Active Security+ certification.
- Experience developing software in C/C++.
- Experience developing software utilizing Java Spring Framework.
- Red Hat certifications (RHCE/RHCSA).
- Understanding of Space Domain Awareness (SDA) mission.
- Excellent people skills, with experience leading and collaborating in a multi-disciplinary, diverse, and dynamic team environment.
- Excellent communication skills (written, verbal, & presentation).

In compliance with pay transparency requirements, the salary range for this role is $85,000 - $177,000. This is not a guarantee of compensation or salary, as final offer amount may vary based on factors including but not limited to experience and geographic location. L3Harris also offers a variety of benefits, including health and disability insurance, 401(k) match, flexible spending accounts, EAP, education assistance, parental leave, paid time off, and company-paid holidays. The specific programs and options available to an employee may vary depending on date of hire, schedule type, and the applicability of collective bargaining agreements.
