Job Location: Colorado Springs, CO
Job Description: The Space Defense Systems area has an opening for a Sr. Specialist, Program Finance to support a cost-plus program in Colorado Springs, CO. The candidate will be responsible for the execution of program finance processes and deliverables; inclusive of: budgeting, EVMS, CDRL preparation, internal financial metrics reporting, and partnership with program management. The individual will work in a fast-paced environment with high expectations and significantly diverse assignments. This is an onsite position.
Essential Functions:
- Maintain the financial plan for assigned programs, including performing earned-value analysis and preparing customer reports.
- Financial cost controls and program controls support (change management, risk management, cost/schedule integration, etc)
- Serve as the financial expert for programs, alerting management to potential issues, identifying risks, and proposing solutions
- Prepare accurate and complete variance analyses with explanations and corrective actions.
- Collaborate with Program Management, FP&A, Accounting, functional support departments, and customers as the primary source of all financial information for all assigned programs.
- Prepare monthly forecasts for Orders, Sales, Operating Income, Cash, and Working Capital, and as required, develop proposals for new work in the portfolio
- Support internal and external audits; actively participate in process improvement initiatives.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s Degree and minimum 6 years of prior relevant experience. Graduate Degree and a minimum of 4 years of prior related experience. In lieu of a degree, minimum of 10 years of prior related experience.
Preferred Additional Skills:
- Proficient financial modeling in Microsoft Excel.
- Strong planning, organizational, and analytical skills; be self-directed, proactive, and possess good communication skills.
- Must be able to work in a team environment.
- Familiarity with government contracting.
- Familiarity with EVM tools and principles; EV certification is a plus.
- Experience with Deltek Cobra, Peoplesoft, ProPricer and Hyperion is a plus.
- Highly organized, able to prioritize workload, and meet strict deadlines.
- Proficient in Cobra.
- Strong Understanding of Earned Value Management concepts, tools and principles.
