Job Description: L3Harris Technologies Inc. is seeking an experienced Logistics Support Engineer to join our team in providing obsolescence, availability, and part production research to support Diminishing Manufacturing Sources and Material Shortages (DMSMS) analysis for operational/weapon systems.

Essential Functions: 

The Logistics Specialists duties include but are not limited to:

  • Research and analyze the Diminishing Manufacturing Sources and Material Shortages (DMSMS) issues for operatinoal/weapon systems.
  • Develop and author obsolescence Supply Supportability Analysis Reports (SSAR).
  • Monitor the repair cycle assets for the targeted weapon system for end of life or end of service support.  Research vanishing vendors and support from secondary market.
  • Monitor assets for potential or suspect counterfeit parts.
  • Monitor the secondary support market for reduced support.
  • Brief at Supply Support Integrated Product Team (SSIPT) meetings to senior level government representatives on a semiannual basis.
  • Develops and presents supply support analysis during SSIPTs. 
    • Utilize outstanding communication (written and verbal) skills and be capable of developing and presenting reports and presentations to the project teams, weapon system management and customer personnel in a clear, articulate and concise manner.
  • Provides supply analysis through material/parts research, warranty tracking, and coordination with the Original Equipment Manufacturers (OEMs).
  • Exercise logistics analysis utilizing standard practices and processes.
  • Provide analysis using logistics tools and metrics.
  • Record logistics management information utilizing logistics support software system.
  • Support the research and updating of form, fit, function replacement items on the systems.

Qualifications:

  • Active SECRET security clearance.
  • Must be able to obtain a DoD Common Access Card (CAC).
  • Bachelor’s Degree and minimum 4 years of prior relevant experience. Graduate Degree and a minimum of 2 years of prior related experience. In lieu of a degree, minimum of 8 years of prior related experience.

Preferred Additional Skills:

  • Operations, Maintenance, or Logistics experience with fixed Air Force / Space Force space surveillance systems.
  • Experience/familiarity with ground based optical or radar surveillance systems (as an operator/maintainer/trainer or as a contractor).
  • Develops and maintains Logistics Management Information using MIL-PRF-49506 as guidance.
  • Familiar with technical manuals and technical orders to include illustrated parts breakdowns.
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Office suite to include Excel, OneNote, Power Point, and Word
  • Working knowledge of acquisition life cycle processes and product development.
  • Understand drawing and specification hierarchy and development.
  • Familiar with DoD and commercial logistics tools and databases: FedLog, GIDEP, WebFLIS, FEDLOG, D043, GOLDesp as well as various LMI Programs.  Extensive knowledge of LMI/LSA data products.
  • Familiar with ASME-Y14.100 and all equivalent guidance pertaining to engineering drawings.
  • Working knowledge of technical order development, content, and change activities.
  • Possess technical skills to understand RAM (Reliability, Availability and Maintainability) and Life Cycle Cost modeling.
  • Familiar with ITAR policies and procedures.
  • Working knowledge of maintenance contracts management and procedures for warranty repairs
  • Familiar with electronics equipment maintenance practices and procedures.

In compliance with pay transparency requirements, the salary range for this role is $56,000 - $104,000 This is not a guarantee of compensation or salary, as final offer amount may vary based on factors including but not limited to experience and geographic location. The specific programs and options available to an employee may vary depending on date of hire, schedule type, and the applicability of collective bargaining agreements.
