Job Schedule: 9/80 - Employees work 9 out of every 14 days – totaling 80 hours worked – and have every other Friday off
The position reports to the Director, Strategy Development, IRAD and Technology for the L3Harris Aerojet Rocketdyne Business Segment.
Essential Functions:
- This position interfaces with IRAD Project Leads, Business Development and Proposal Leads, Business Managers, Procurement Leads, Finance and Accounting Specialists to support the management and execution of New Business Funds (NBF) projects (IRAD, B&P and DS).
- The Senior Specialist is responsible for creating and maintaining New Business Funds projects; managing requests and approvals for new project starts and revisions; fielding real-time requests for project status and information; approving purchase requisitions and purchase orders; supporting business case investment evaluations; performing analysis of project cost, schedule and performance; and supporting project and proposal gate reviews.
- The individual will be required to provide cross-site and cross-functional support and training, generally via remote work methods; work within multiple information management systems including SharePoint, Oracle/Maestro, and other structure databases; support monthly financial reporting; create and distribute weekly project cost reports; maintain work instructions and training materials for NBF processes; and support meetings both virtually and in-person.
- The individual must have a strong working knowledge of program/project management principles, including project scope definition, task-oriented Work Breakdown Structures (WBS), Integrated Master Scheduling (IMS), and cost estimating.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s Degree and minimum 4 years of prior relevant experience. Graduate Degree and a minimum of 2 years of prior related experience. In lieu of a degree, minimum of 8 years of prior strategy development experience.
Preferred Additional Skills:
- Strong written and verbal communications skills
- Work independently, as well as work effectively with physically-present and virtual teams and support unanticipated customers/requests
- Proficient using MS Word, PowerPoint
- Expertise in MS Excel
- Experience and ability working with Oracle-based systems and databases
- Experience and ability developing SharePoint functionality, including forms and workflows
- Demonstrated capability in supporting/completing process improvement initiatives
- Business Development experience in aerospace or defense industries
- Technology Development experience, including technology road mapping
- Project management experience
In compliance with pay transparency requirements, the salary range for this role in California is $75,000 - $139,000. This is not a guarantee of compensation or salary, as final offer amount may vary based on factors including but not limited to experience and geographic location.
