Job Description:
We are seeking a Heat Treat & Brazing Furncae Operator to join our facility in Canoga Park CA (Los Angeles area). Union Position. 2nd Shift.
This positoin will set up and operate controlled atmospheric brazing furnaces to braze rocket engine thrust chambers and other assemblies where both explosive and inert gases are used in the atmosphere. Heat treat various types of metal alloy parts such as extrusions and those made from sheet aluminum, titanium, stainless steel and other similar metals.

Essential Functions:
- Load parts on hooks and racks to minimize warpage and obtain even heat.
- Operate hand and power moving and lifting equipment to place parts in furnaces, ovens bath and quench.
- Operate, adjust and regulate various types and sizes of ovens or furnaces.
- Harden, normalize and anneal aluminum alloy or stress relieve or anneal titanium and stainless steel extrusions, flat or formed sheet metal parts, sheet stock, skins or wing panels by following easily identified reference information, verbal instructions and shop practice.
- Plan the process, time, temperature, quenching medium and operational sequences to harden, normalize, anneal, and surface harden steel tooling and first run production parts.
- Perform such typical operations as hardening, tempering, normalizing, annealing, surface hardening and localized flame hardening of such tooling as dies, cutters and jigs, and/or machine parts where warpage and oxidation must be held to a minimum and on which all machining operations have been completed.
- Harden, anneal, normalize, temper or surface harden steel parts following established time cycles, temperatures, quenching mediums and operational sequences.
- Check hardness of parts by making standard tests.
- Heat treat steel tooling as directed.
- Copper braze parts and assemblies by operating brazing oven.
Qualifications:
- High School graduate or equivalent. Trade school certification preferred.
- Minimum of 3 years of experience in related field.
In compliance with pay transparency requirements, the salary range for this role is $32.30/hr - $53.98/hr. This is not a guarantee of compensation or salary, as final offer amount may vary based on factors including but not limited to experience and geographic location.
