Job Description:
We are seeking a Specialist, Tool and Design Engineer to join our growing facility in Camden, Arkansas. In this role, the selected individual will design manufacturing tooling for the production of solid fuel rocket motors and warheads. This person will develop jigs, fixtures, lifting devices, and semi-automated equipment to cast and assemble the final product. Designs major components or major portions of a functional system to develop or improve products and facilitate manufacturing operations. Utilizes CAD equipment to develop basic data and make preliminary layouts, sketches and notes necessary to present design proposals. Investigates and makes decisions regarding pertinent design factors such as ease of manufacture, availability of materials and equipment, interchangeability, replaceability, strength-weight efficiency, contractual specification requirements and cost.
Essential Functions:
- Design mechanical equipment using PTC Creo and Windchill.
- Interface with production, program management and safety to develop requirements and tooling needs.
- Define existing equipment problems and design repairs and modifications.
- Works to achieve operational targets with moderate impact on departmental results.
- Contributes to the completion of specific programs and projects.
- Exerts some influence on the overall objectives of the project.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s Degree and minimum 4 years of prior Tool and Design experience.
- Graduate Degree and a minimum of 2 years of prior Tool and Design experience.
- In lieu of a degree, minimum of 8 years of prior Tool and Design experience.
