Aerojet Rocketdyne is an innovative company delivering solutions that create value for its customers in the aerospace and defense markets. We are a world-recognized aerospace and defense leader that provides propulsion and energetics to the space, missile defense and strategic systems, tactical systems and armaments areas, in support of domestic and international markets. We are seeking interns for summer 2025 to support our Manufacturing and Process team. This position will be located in our Camden, Arkansas facility.
Essential Job Functions (Including % of Time for Each):
- 70% - Support manufacturing engineering in the troubleshooting of complex operations involved in the manufacture of insulation components, insulated rocket motor cases, composite rocket motor components, and rocket motor assembly operation.
- 30% - Originate, prepare, and maintain detailed planning (Standard Operating Procedures) for the manufacture of rocket warhead components. Perform hands-on pilot operations for manufacture of new inert or energetic components, and development program components and assemblies. Accurately report problems, solutions, and results in concise written and oral communications.
Requirements:
- Candidate must be currently enrolled in a B.S. or M.S. degree program in Mechanical Engineering, Chemical Engineering or other related major and have completed their sophomore year of study, and be returning to school upon completion of the assignment.
- Requires U.S. Citizenship, U.S. Permanent Residency or other status as a U.S. Person. Must be able to satisfy federal government requirements for access to government information and having dual citizenship may preclude you from being able to meet this requirement.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Minimum GPA of 3.0.
- Working knowledge of all Microsoft Software applications.
- Excellent communication and problem-solving skills.
- Self-starter and have the ability to work with little direction.
- Solid academic track record of accomplishment.
- Leadership skills.
Work Environment/Physical Requirements:
Employees in these positions must possess mobility to work in a standard office setting and to use standard office equipment, including a computer; stamina to sit or stand and maintain attention to detail despite interruptions; may occasionally lift/carry/push/pull up to 25 pounds; may require occasional walking, climbing, stooping, crouching, and/or bending; and vision to read printed materials and a computer screen, and hearing and speech to communicate in person and over the telephone. May require the ability to travel by air or auto. May require the use of personal protective equipment such as safety glasses, safety shoes, and shop coat. These positions may be expected to work varying shifts and hours to ensure successful operation of activities in the organization.
