What the role will involve
The responsibilities of your role will include the following:
- Perform System Administration and maintenance for development environments and delivered systems.
- Install and test mandated updates (patching) in a reference facility prior to customer system update.
- Provide support to remote System Administrators for installed systems.
- Define, configure, test, deploy and document IT solutions in support of development contracts.
- Maintain awareness of IT best practice for physical and virtual environments, system security, network infrastructure, backup, disaster recovery and recommend upgrades and improvements.
- Liaise with corporate IT as required.
- Assist with the specification of IT requirements to support software installation on both internal and customer systems.
- Manage software licensing for developed systems software including initial procurement, renewals and upgrades.
- To be responsible for the deployment of IT solutions.
- Maintain backups of development and in-build systems
- Adhere to company and contractual standards and processes applicable to IT and system security requirements.
What you’ll bring
The role requires the following experience and skills:
- Bachelor’s Degree and minimum 3 years of prior relevant experience. Graduate Degree and a minimum of 5 years of prior related experience. In lieu of a degree, minimum of 8 years of prior related experience
- Knowledge of virtual environments and setup (e.gg. VMWare, ESXi, Citrix), PC setup, RAOD, backup utilities (e.g. VEEAM), OS installation and setup.
- Knowledge of project management
- PC skills – Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Access, Outlook, SharePoint, Visio.
- Confident and proactive communicator
- Good interpersonal skills and ability to integrate into a team environment
