Job Description:
Configuration Management (CM) is a comprehensive technical and management discipline that establishes and maintains consistency of product performance, functional, and physical attributes with its requirements, design, and operational information. CM maintains the integrity of system documentation, design artifacts, baselines, and associated configuration information using configuration processes and controls. CM provides as-required support to the design and program management teams as a subject matter expert for analyses, consultations, special topic discussions, tools support, and other tasking as required.
Essential Functions:
- Designs and establishes configuration management documentation and processes
- Analyzes proposed design changes to determine the effect on the overall system
- Establishes and enforces baseline integrity by authorizing release of drawings and changes specified by Program or Engineering Management
- Plans and implements methods for continuous improvement
- Performs audits to verify compliance with contractual requirements
- Uses configuration management tools for issue tracking and version control
- Plans and establishes operational objectives for a team within a clearly defined job area
- Communicates with parties inside and outside of own team to explain and interpret policies, practices, and procedures
- Perform Data Management functions (release, submittal, trsacking of contract and seller data requirements)
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s Degree and minimum 6 years of prior relevant experience. Graduate Degree and a minimum of 4 years of prior related experience. In lieu of a degree, minimum of 10 years of prior related experience.
- Experience in a Configuration/Data Management or related engineering support/services role
- Expertise with Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Project).
- Ability to obtain a US Secret Clearance
Preferred Additional Skills:
- Change Analyst experience in a PLM system
- Familiarity with Contract data management process.
