About the role
As a Global Trade Professional, you will partner with programs in our business and be responsible for ensuring global trade activities are effectively managed and compliant with licencing obligations, relevant laws and regulations, and the company’s policies and procedures.
The role will require proactively managing global trade activities to identify requirements, implement and manage solutions, and resolve issues to ensure consist global trade practices and compliance is applied across the company.
What the role will involve
The responsibilities of your role will include the following:
- Support the implementation and management of global trade authorisations for assigned programs / pursuits.
- Identify licensing requirements and associated risks for assigned programs / pursuits and develop and implement plans to obtain, maintain and manage authorisations in support of the timely achievement of business requirements.
- Support the preparation of shipments and re-transfer of export-controlled material to ensure shipments and re-transfers are in compliance with relevant licences, laws, and regulations.
- Review and action requests for re-transfer of export-controlled materials to ensure compliance with licences and regulatory requirements prior to release outside the company.
- Participate in the collection and analysis of performance metrics for the purpose of driving process improvements and enhanced controls.
- Provide input and advice on appropriate classifications, regulations, and commodity codes for the designation of product classification.
- Maintain records in relevant systems, ensuring all records are up to date, and that the records are reviewed for currency and accuracy.
- Undertake travel, as required, to fulfil the requirements of this role.
What you’ll bring
To succeed in this role, you’ll need the following experience and skills:
- Tertiary qualifications in Business, Commerce, or Law, or 3-5 years equivalent experience in defence or related industry.
- Knowledge and expertise in US, Australia and other international laws and regulations.
- Knowledge of regulatory agency guidance and practice, export licensing requirements, and best practices
- Knowledge of export / import operations and/or regulatory compliance frameworks
- Demonstrated experience in identifying risks, recommending, and implementing solutions in a timely manner.
- Exemplary communication skills and attention to detail.
- Demonstrated experience supporting customer requirements and meeting time critical deadlines.
