The General Accountant is responsible for the operational and administrative management of the company’s accounting activities, ensuring accurate financial records, compliance with fiscal and civil regulations, and support during periodic financial closings.
Role and responsibilities
- Record daily accounting transactions (specifically, accounts payable, general ledger).
- Manage adjusting entries and support the preparation of statutory financial statements.
- Monitor and reconcile balance sheet accounts and profit & loss accounts.
- Handle VAT fulfilment.
- Archive and maintain accounting documentation in compliance with applicable regulations.
- Provide support during internal and external audits.
- Collaborate with other company functions (purchasing office, logistics, management control).
- Intercompany transactions management
- Month-end activities for Managerial reporting
Essential skills and knowledge
- High school diploma in Accounting or a University degree in Economics or related fields.
- 5–7 years of experience in accounting roles, preferably in structured companies or professional accounting firms.
