Job Description:
The Senior Specialist, Production Planning role is responsible for the proper use and functioning of the ERP manufacturing planning system (Costpoint). This includes production planning (responding to MRP messages and rough-cut capacity planning), clear-to-build analysis, manufacturing order maintenance (confirming of orders and proper date assignment), material allocations, BOM review (ECO driven changes), and process improvement of planning activities. Minimal supervision of daily activities will be required with independent judgment relative to work activities expected. This position will operate under general supervision of the Manager, Production Planning.
Essential Functions:
- Review Costpoint daily for actions, and to validate the output for accuracy and initiates corrective action for discrepant issues.
- Interface with Purchasing and Receiving Inspection to resolve due date and shortage issues prior to work order release to support customer delivery/contract dates.
- Monitor various reports to take corrective actions: Exception Message report, Allocation of Excess Inventory report, Open Work Order report, Work Center labor and dispatch report, and Project Shortage report.
- Manages the work order process to include revision control, material availability, work order release, start and completion date maintenance, material allocation changes, Work Center labor requirements, material and labor variance analysis, and released BOM’s and routers.
- Assist Work Centers in dispatch report management and execution, work order prioritization and schedule management.
- Assist in generating production schedules and Work Center capacity load schedules.
- Notify the Manager, Production Planning when available resources do not support the production plan (MPS) or meeting the contract date is at risk.
- Manage and execute project production schedules to meet the Master Schedule and contract delivery dates.
- Computer savvy and possess the acumen to quickly learn Costpoint as it relates to Production Control Inventory Management.
- Understanding of ERP Manufacturing Planning Systems, ideally Costpoint.
- Knowledge of requirements in the requisitioning, purchasing, stocking, control, and issuance of inventory.
- Basic knowledge of blueprint readings and interpretation of documentation used in the fabrication and production of electromechanical products.
- Knowledge of the processes and procedures required to fabricate, wire and assemble electromechanical sub-assemblies, assemblies, and systems.
- Generating moderately complex spreadsheets and reports utilizing: Microsoft Excel (pivot tables) and Microsoft Word.
- Performs other duties as assigned by Management.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s Degree with six (6) years of prior production planning experience, ideally in an environment producing electro/mechanical products for the military. Graduate Degree with four (4) years of prior production planning experience, ideally in an environment producing electro/mechanical products for the military. In lieu of a degree, minimum of 10 years of prior production planning experience, ideally in an environment producing electro/mechanical products for the military.
- Must be a US Citizen.
In compliance with pay transparency requirements, the salary range for this role is $76,500 - $141,500. This is not a guarantee of compensation or salary, as final offer amount may vary based on factors including but not limited to experience and geographic location.
