Job Description:
As a Demand Planner for L3Harris, you will play a critical role in supporting the Sales, Inventory, and Operations Planning (SIOP) process across one or more manufacturing sites. Your primary responsibility will be to serve as the main point of contact for gathering and tracking demand data from various sources to be used in decision-making for future planning processes. You will collaborate with cross-functional teams to consolidate demand information, including firm Sales Orders and speculative demand such as New Business, Follow On, Customer Options, Repair and Return MRO, and Engineering IRAD, while developing forecasts for commercial contracts and customers. Your role will be instrumental in creating a comprehensive demand plan that spans the next 18-24 rolling months, ensuring alignment between demand and supply plans across the organization. This role will be critical in the execution of the monthly demand reviews, as the data collected, presented, and agreed to will feed the overall SIOP cadence and cycle.
Essential Functions:
- Act as the primary liaison between multiple sites and cross-functional teams to gather, consolidate, and analyze demand data.
- Collect and interpret demand inputs including Sales Orders, customer forecasts, market trends, and historical sales data.
- Develop and maintain an accurate 18–24‑month demand plan incorporating internal and external factors.
- Monitor demand changes and proactively identify risks, opportunities, and required adjustments.
- Prepare for and lead SIOP meetings, ensuring demand plans align with business priorities, market conditions, and operational capabilities.
- Communicate demand forecasts and insights to stakeholders, providing recommendations for inventory and production planning.
- Collaborate with Business Development, PMO, and Engineering to understand customer requirements, market dynamics, and upcoming opportunities.
- Create and maintain reports and metrics that track demand planning, forecasting, and SIOP objectives.
- Drive continuous improvement to enhance accuracy, efficiency, and effectiveness of demand planning processes across multiple sites.
- Lead and influence stakeholders without direct authority to drive alignment.
- Adapt to changing business needs and adopt new tools/technologies to improve demand planning.
- Manage multiple priorities effectively in a fast-paced environment.
- Flexibility to travel occasionally to various sites, 10% approx..
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree and 6+ years of related experience; Master’s degree and 4+ years; or 10+ years of relevant experience in lieu of a degree.
- Minimum 4 years of experience in planning, operations, manufacturing, or supply chain.
- At least 2 years of demand planning experience, preferably within aerospace & defense and supporting multiple sites.
- 4+ years working with SIOP processes and principles.
- Minimum 4 years of experience with ERP systems (specifically Deltek Costpoint) in demand and inventory management.
- 2+ years of experience with supply chain best practices including inventory optimization and risk management.
- At least 2 years of experience with demand planning software and advanced proficiency in Excel and Power BI.
Preferred Additional Skills:
- Degree in Operations Management, Supply Chain Management, Engineering, or related technical field.
- Knowledge of aerospace & defense industry regulations, market dynamics, and customer requirements.
- Experience supporting IPT requirements in a Program Management and Engineering‑driven organization.
- Proficiency with MRP systems and related planning tools.
- Expertise in master scheduling, capacity planning, production planning, and inventory management.
- APICS/ASCM certifications (CPIM, CSCP) preferred.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to collaborate across functions and levels.
- Proactive, results‑oriented mindset with a focus on continuous improvement.
- Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret data and generate actionable insights.
- Detail‑oriented with high accuracy in data analysis and reporting.
- Commitment to continuous learning and professional development in supply chain and demand planning.
In compliance with pay transparency requirements, the salary range for this role is $79,000 - $147,000. This is not a guarantee of compensation or salary, as final offer amount may vary based on factors including but not limited to experience and geographic location.
