Job Title: System Integration & Test Engineer
Job Location: Abu Dhabi, United Arab Emirates
Job Description
As a System Integration & Test Engineer, you are responsible for proactively driving system integration and verification activities as part of a multidisciplinary team upgrading a C4I system in the United Arab Emirates. This role belongs to the System Engineering team and reports directly to the Chief Systems Engineer.
In this position, you will manage the continuous integration of hardware and software system components. You will verify rolling subcontractor deliveries against system requirements, document faults, and follow up on their resolution.
The System Integration & Test Engineer will contribute to system integration processes, tools, and test frameworks. You will help improve and streamline integration across an ecosystem of evolving system components. Additionally, you will identify and implement opportunities to automate and accelerate system integration and verification.
Key Responsibilities
- Integrate software modules, hardware components, and external interfaces into a cohesive end‑to‑end system.
- Collaborate closely with development teams to understand system interfaces, data flows, and dependencies.
- Develop and document integration plans and system configuration baselines.
- Develop, document, and execute test strategies, plans, and procedures for functional, performance, regression, and acceptance testing.
- Execute verification and validation activities for subcontractor‑provided system components within tight timelines.
- Evolve and maintain existing end‑to‑end test scenarios.
- Document defects, analyze root causes, and coordinate remediation with engineering teams and subcontractors.
Qualifications
- Master’s degree in Computer Science or a related discipline with a minimum of 2 years of relevant experience, or Bachelor’s degree with a minimum of 4 years of relevant experience
- Demonstrated experience understanding principles of system architecture.
- Demonstrated experience in executing system tests and managing system configurations.
Preferred Skills & Experience
- Experience in system architecture for C4I systems.
- Proactive approach to system verification and defect resolution.
- Experience in testing and profiling OpenAPI-based interfaces.
- Familiarity with configuration management tools.
- Experience with Windows and Linux operating systems.
- Experience with virtual machines (KVM, VMware, Nutanix)
- Experience with computer networks (routing, switching, vlans, etc.)
