Job Description:

Responsible for planning, controlling and managing activities related to inventory control, shipping/receiving, storing and traffic analysis of materials or finished goods. The ideal candidate will be an experienced Material Management professional with a practical knowledge and experience in the management of Government Property, inventory control, cycle counting programs, logistics, and someone who is looking to manage the Inventory Management & Logistics teams with only general supervision.

Essential Functions:

  • Establishes and modifies operational methods and procedures.
  • Analyzes inventory levels, inventory positioning, planned production.  
  • Initiates immediate actions in out-of-stock situations.
  • Ensures materials are received from proper vendors, delivered to inventory and finished goods, packaged according to specifications and shipped in a timely manner.
  • Ensures materials are available to meet production schedules and/or products are shipped as per schedules.
  • Responsible for coordination and consolidation of domestic and international systems to support shipments.
  • Interprets laws, rules and regulations regarding shipping and prepares applications for import/export control certifications and licenses.
  • Supervises lower-level professionals or supervisors and/or higher-level support.
  • This position will supervise 3-5 direct reports.
  • Communicates with parties inside and outside of own department to explain and interpret policies, practices, and procedures.
  • Makes moderate improvements to processes, systems, and solutions. Plans and establishes operational objectives for a team with moderate impact on department results.
  • Understands basic management approaches and has proficient knowledge of job area.

  • Assigns tasks, peer reviews and provides training.
  • Manage and control all Government and Customer-owned property. 
  • Perform incoming processing for U.S. Government- and Customer-owned property per ISO procedures. 
  • Ensure that all U.S. Government- and customer-owned property is put into the correct tracking system and file all incoming documentation.

Qualifications:  

  • Bachelor’s Degree with a minimum of 4 years prior relevant experience or 2 years post-Secondary/ Associates Degree with a minimum of 8 years of prior related experience. Equivalent combination of relevant experience, training and certifications may be acceptable & considered in lieu of formal degree.
  • Understands basic management approaches such as work scheduling, prioritizing, coaching and process execution.
  • Experience with ERP/MRP systems, Specifically SAP S/4 Hana
  • Full MS office Suite to include word, outlook, and excel.
  • Must have intermediate excel skills.
  • Familiarity with ITAR regulations as it relates to movement of materials & foreign shipments.
  • Must have good housekeeping and 5S practices.
  • Must be able to lift 50 pounds.

Preferred Additional Skills:

  • Forklift qualified.
  • Hazmat Training
  • Past supervisory experience within supply chain/warehouse environment.
  • APICS Certified preferred qualification.
  • Past working experience in ISO9001/AS9100 environment.
  • Preferred background working within a highly regulated environment.
