Job Description:
L3Harris’ Communication Systems segment is currently seeking a Principal, Contracts. This position will be based in Rochester, NY. This role must be a subject matter expert in all aspects of US Government Contracting, including Foreign Military Sales and be responsible for managing a large volume of high-dollar pursuits and FMS cases for multiple agencies in multiple geographic regions.
Essential Functions:
- Oversees a highly complex and strategic portfolio of work, providing business, contractual, and risk mitigation strategic guidance for FMS, International, DoD-related Commercial and CAS covered contracts
- Leads cross-functional proposal and negotiation teams in pursuit of major contracts in compliance with government acquisition and export control regulations
- Represents the company in exchanges with senior customer executives; coordinates strategy and regularly briefs L3Harris executives
- Works in partnership with legal counsel to provide recommendations from a Contracts perspective on legal issues, intellectual property defense, disputes, claims, protests, and lawsuits
- Reviews and approves the contractual, financial, and business aspects of proposals, contracts, agreements and business unit operational initiatives as a subject matter expert
- Senior leader in the analysis and review of proposed business terms, costs, risks and opportunities during cost and price reviews
- Drafts, negotiates, reviews, and approves agreements such as Teaming, Non-Disclosure, Licensing, and other legal documents
- Partners with technical experts from the earliest stages of product development to strategize, define, defend, and implement Commercial Item positions internally, to upper-tier primes, and directly to the US Government
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s Degree and a minimum of 12 years of prior relevant contracts experience, Graduate Degree and a minimum of 10 years of prior related contracts experienc, In lieu of a degree, minimum of 16 years of prior related contracts experience
Preferred Additional Skills:
- MBA Preferred
- Must be a self-starter capable of high-level independent work with strong organizational and computer skills
- Comfortable with international travel and direct support of in-country pursuits
- Fluency in one or more written and spoken languages in addition to English
- Certified Federal Contract Manager by National Contract Management Association
In compliance with pay transparency requirements, the salary range for this role in Colorado, Hawaii, Illinois, Washington State and New York State is $105,000 - $195,000. F This is not a guarantee of compensation or salary, as final offer amount may vary based on factors including but not limited to experience and geographic location.
