Job Description:
L3Harris is seeking an Engineering Technician C to join our team. This person will contribute to the company’s success by supporting all aspects of the Depanel, Wave, and Selective Solder equipment on second shift at the Jefferson Road Operations Center. This role will be responsible for programming, troubleshooting, and repairing this equipment while balancing equipment support with improvement initiatives. It will be essential for this role to work well with cross functional teams to understand and prioritize shop floor issues and communicate with other shifts to relay issues faced and resolved.
Essential Functions:
- Provide support to Depanel, Wave, and Selective Solder equipment to maximize throughput and quality
- Support Preventative Maintenance schedules and machine capability assessments
- Support equipment troubleshooting and repair of equipment on second shift
- Investigate, initiate, and institute quality improvement opportunities for Depanel, Mass Soldering, and hand soldering processes through data analysis and program optimization—Requires working closely with Quality, Test, and Operations to drive failures to root cause
- Support pre-build processes on second shift to enable Operations build plans
- Review defective material and apply knowledge of IPC criteria to determine repairability
Qualifications:
- High School Diploma or equivalent with 6 years prior experience, 2 year post-secondary/AA Degree and 2 years prior experience
Preferred Additional Skills:
- Experience operating or troubleshooting Depanel, Wave, and Selective soldering equipment
- Familiarity with high reliability electronics, specifically through hole components
- Self-Starter and able to work successfully with minimal supervision; Ability to work a flexible schedule to meet production needs
- Experience with e3 (Lean/6 Sigma), 5S, and Kaizen tools and processes
- Working knowledge of IPC documentation, including IPC-A-610, J-STD-001, and IPC 7711/7721
In compliance with pay transparency requirements, the salary range for this role in Colorado State, Hawaii, Illinois, Maryland, Minnesota, Vermont and New York State is $53,000-$98,000. This is not a guarantee of compensation or salary, as final offer amount may vary based on factors including but not limited to experience and geographic location.
