Job Description:
This role is the focal point for both internal and external tactical supplier quality activities in Philadelphia. The SSQES serves as the advocate to the supplier within the business and represents business interests when working with suppliers. The SQES supports the day to day operations and is responsible for tactical issue resolution for supply chain related quality issues; both internal and at the customer.
Essential Responsibilities
This position will have responsibilities and perform tasks in the following areas:
- Implement IMS policies, procedures and standards for Supplier Management that drive a preventive, zero defect culture of quality, supplier excellence and customer satisfaction.
- Utilize continuos improvement tools including Failure Mode and Effects Analysis, Six Sigma and Lean Concepts to drive supplier improvements.
- Collaborate with supply chain to support G2G initiatives
- Assess and audit new and existing supplier capabilities and ensure suppliers meet L3Harris and customer requirements.
- Collaborate with supply chain to maintain the approved supplier list
- Generate supplier quality reports and metrics to support various internal improvement meetings.
- Generate reports and analyze supplier performance data, and drive actions to improve site key process indicators.
- Develop and maintain incoming inspection criteria. Review and coordinate disposition of nonconforming material associated with Incoming Inspection and supplier driven defects in manufacturing operations
- Lead root cause analysis activities for supplier responsible customer escapes.
- Initiate and drive supplier corrective action requests. Train suppliers as required and ensure effective containment plans are defined and implemented.
- Review flow down of Program Quality requirements and ensure that they are included in the requirement documents to suppliers.
- Review and disposition first article inspection reports and ensure that product meets factory, customer and program requirements.
- Perform other Quality Engineering tasks as assigned to support Maritime Power, Philadelphia.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s Degree and minimum 4 years of prior relevant experience. Graduate Degree and a minimum of 2 years of prior related experience. Associates Degree and a minimum of 8 years of prior experience.
- Experience in operations, supply chain and/or quality.
- AS9100/ISO9001 or IATF16949 equivalent quality system and process audit experience required
- Proven problem-solving experience.
- Able to travel up to 40%.
- Must be a US Citizen
Preferred Additional Skills:
- FAI, AS9102 experience
- Lean Manufacturing
- APQP & PPAP experience preferred.
- Six Sigma and/or RedX Certified
- APQP, SPC, FMEA, Control Plan, Measurement System Analysis (MSA) and PPAP experience
- Exceptional interpersonal and communication skills, both written and verbal.
