Job Description:
L3Harris is seeking a software engineer to join our team and contribute to the customization, integration, and enhancement of automation products. This role is crucial for advancing workflow efficiency and promoting collaboration across various teams within the company. The ideal candidate will be responsible for developing and implementing solutions within the automation suite, including JIRA, Confluence, and Bitbucket, to meet the evolving project requirements and operational needs of our organization.

Essential Functions:

  • Develop, code, and maintain custom scripts, plugins, and integrations for automation tools.
  • Work in partnership with diverse teams to gather requirements and implement automation-based solutions.
  • Provide guidance on the configuration and management of automation tools.
  • Create and manage JIRA workflows, screen configurations, permission schemes, and notification systems.
  • Enhance and scale the automation toolset to maximize benefits for the organization.
  • Conduct training sessions and create documentation to improve user adoption and understanding of automation tools.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve issues with automation applications.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Information Technologies, or related field with 0-1 year of experience in software development.
  • Proficient in scripting languages such as Bash, Perl, Python, or similar for automation tasks.
  • Experience in managing Linux and Windows operating systems.
  • Knowledge of CI platforms like Jenkins and Artifactory.
  • Understanding of SQL and relational databases, preferably MySQL.
  • Experience with the automation tool suite (Confluence, JIRA, Bitbucket).
  • Familiarity with collaborative software such as GitLab, ClearCase, or ClearQuest.
  • Familiar with software build tools and version control systems.
  • Active TS/SCI security clearance is desirable.

Preferred Additional Skills:

  • Automation certified professional is highly desirable.
  • Experience in software configuration management protocols.
  • Understanding of CI/CD methodologies, agile development, and DevSecOps tools and practices.
  • Proficiency in Programming Languages: C/C++, C#, Java, JavaScript, SQL.
  • Experience with Git or similar Software Configuration Management tools.
  • Agile software development lifecycle experience.
  • Proven ability to produce and manage software builds and releases.
